Justin Sun Bought The Second Most Expensive Punk NFT

In August, I discovered the T-punk NFTs, it’s like cryptopunk but on tron’s blockchain. It’s the first NFT on tron’s blockchain. Most people that regret not buying the cryptopunk when it was very cheap used the opportunity to purchase the T-punk. The T-punk was initially minted for 1,000 Tron(TRX) but they cost more than that now as we are seeing lots of T-punk being bought for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Justin Sun, who is the current CEO of Tron(TRX) just bought the second money expensive punk. The most expensive punk is the cryptopunk from the Ethereum blockchain that was sold for $11.8 million. Just Sun just bought a T-punk for $10.5 million.

The T-punk is a pixelated picture of something that looks like a joker or clown. But spending that much amount of money ignited a lot of concerns from his followers through their comment. Lots of people had lots of things to stay. While he got some supports from some people he also got criticized by other people. The criticism was based on the idea that he is being unnecessarily extravagant buying a jpeg image for $10 million.

Justin Tron has been known for throwing money into NFTs these days. In my opinion I feel he bought the T-punk for that price just as a way to create publicity and awareness towards the T-punk NFTs. The T-punk NFTs is still new compared to the cryptopunk NFT, is it going to be as successful as the cryptopunk NFTs, we’ll time will tell. Currently people are gradually picking interest on T-punk as am seeing Twitter AVIs changing to their T-punk Avatars.

He also donated the T-punk to ApeNFT. ApeNFT is a platform that connects world class artist to blockchain.

He picked a fitting image: an edgy clown.
