Venezuelan Airport About To Accept Bitcoin

I will say that am extremely impressed with the way the Venezuelan government is treating cryptocurrency. Although the reason am impressed is because unlike other countries, they have not banned, discredit or make it illegal. The country’s inflation rise which was due to corruption from the government made the citizens turn to bitcoin to preserve their wealth. This was one of the best decisions the people of Venezuela has made. I guess the government hasn’t considered it a threat yet.

Some businesses like the Burger King and the Pizza Hut have allowed their customers pay with cryptocurrencies. This was not considered an offense. The country is considered one of the most used cryptocurrency countries in the world and this is relatable because of the financial struggles. Coming from Nigeria, I can boldly say I relate, because Bitcoin and cryptocurrency has kept the youths away from starving and getting into crime.

It seems like the Venezuelans are slowly unofficially adopting cryptocurrency in some sectors. The latest adoption is the approval of crypto as a means of payment in the Venezuelan airport. The Maiquetía international airport is known as the largest airport in Venezuela, the airport is looking forward to accepting Bitcoin and Dash as a means of payment. This means that travelers can pay for their flights with bitcoin and dash. This is expected to have a positive effect on the country’s economy because that is the airport mostly used by tourist to enter the country.

This news was announced in the country’s local media stations. We are seeing and we have seen airports explore the use of cryptocurrencies.

This is just a beginning step to greater financial breakthrough for the country. It’s a slow process but we might be seeing more cryptocurrency adoption in the country.
