Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Two Perfect Brawls and 15 Wins In A Row!

Time flies! Just completed the 74th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 7 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 3rd!

So for the final result, we were 3rd out of 10 guilds and got 754 Merits and around 9 SPS! For the first time in 4 brawls, we managed to secure a place in the podium, despite the low participation/number of players being a big issue for us.

Individually, I had 7 fights this time and I won all of them! Finished 1st within the guild. That means two consecutive perfect brawls after finishing 8-0 in the previous one!

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

With 13 mana and Poison, there weren't much combinations. Sometimes you don't have to think too much - I opted for a single card and it was enough. Kudos to Forgotten One!

MVP: Forgotten One

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Trapp Falloway

Both teams opted for a Martyr tank strategy but it was Trapp Falloway who dominated this entire battle with the boost from Martyr and Bloodlust. One of the best Epic Gladius cards for sure!

MVP: Trapp Falloway

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Isgald Vorst and Alfredo

A Level 3 Isgald Vorst was really too much to handle for my opponent. Starting at 3 Melee damage and with Opportunity ability, he can build up Bloodlust very quickly and that made the difference in this one.

MVP: Isgald Vorst

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Captain Katie and Sola Ranjell

Rebirth battles are painful to watch - because they are so long!!! But we know the drill - use Gladius cards!!! There's a lot of Bloodlust opportunities up for grabs! Captain Katie stole the limelight ahead of her Legendary counterpart and was the quickest to clock all the Bloodlusts! Not many can beat these two Gladius magicians.

MVP: Captain Katie

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Edith Emberstar

Ranged battles are always interesting because there is a lot of limitation for the card choices. For this battle, I was just trying to fill up the 60 mana by slotting all the big cards. Fortunately, my opponent was not strong and they took too long to get rid of Drybone Raider who was dealing 6 damage every turn. In the end, my damage output won this battle.

MVP: Drybone Raider

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

This was a very restrictive battle and both teams failed to even fill up the 29 mana. My lineup was only 24 mana and I was prepared to lose this one. Surprisingly, my opponent put up an even weaker lineup. Lucky win for this.

MVP: Mycelic Slipspawn

Battle 7 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Orella Abadon

Fire lineups generally don't do well against Magic lineups but it turned to be an exception this time. My damage output from the backline was too strong and I eventually turned this around in one of the toughest battles in this brawl.

MVP: Orella Abadon

So that sums up my 7 battles for this brawl! 100% win rate and I just want to say I am delighted for the result because the wins took a lot of strategising and planning and I never take these wins for granted or as automatic.

Review Of Gladius Cards

The Merits are coming in fast and I have enough Merits for my 34th Gladius case! Nothing much to see here, just a normal pack of stuff. Haha.
