Splinterlands Has Given Me $5,819.32 For Free!

SPLINTERLANDS

No the title is not a typo. In fact I've been very conservative with the number displayed in the title. If I were to tell the complete truth Splinterlands has given me a good amount more than the $5,819.32 USD displayed in the title and I'll explain how below.

First lets take a look at the number $5,819.32 USD. You might be asking yourself, "Rentmoney how did you get such a precise number". The answer to that question is an easy one and can be explained in one word, PeakMonsters.

PeakMonsters is a secondary Splinterlands marketplace that has some unique features. For example if you have an abundance of unused cards in your collection PeakMonsters has an option that allows you to list your cards for rent to other players. One of PeakMonsters other awesome features is it displays the USD value of a persons collection.

The collection value display can be adjusted to many different levels. One such level is only showing the collection value of a specific edition of cards. Cards that are originally attained for free are usually part of the Rewards edition. So when using PeakMonsters to display only my Rewards edition cards the USD displayed will be the total amount my Rewards cards are worth.

image.png

The Screenshot above shows the total value of all my Rewards cards that are in my Splinterlands account @rentmoney. The first number we see is the List Prices value ($5,819.32). The second number we see is the Market Prices value ($5,533.62). List price is calculated via adding up the collections value in accordance to the value in which cards are listed for sale. Market Prices value is calculated via using the value in which a card was last sold for. In my case the two numbers displayed are very close but if one holds some higher value Rewards cards the gap between the two values might be much larger. All Rewards cards are originally attained for free by simply playing the awesome game that is Splinterlands.

Now you might remember that earlier I said that the amount of $5,819.32 USD is a conserative number given. The reason for this is because Splinterlands has become much more than just a game. It has introduced different assets and crypto currencies in which have value. These Splinterlands assests can also be attained for free. One such asset is the in game currency known as Dark Energy Crystals. DEC is attained for free via playing Ranked battles. Currently I have just over 500,000 DEC spread across the different platforms such as Hive-Engine, Steem-Engine and in game. Splinterlands values 1000 DEC at $1 USD. So this 500,000 DEC I have earned for free nets me another $500 USD that Splinterlands has given me for Free. This now brings my total to $6,319.32* USD that has been given to me in one form or another from Splinterlands.

image.png

WAIT I'm not finished yet. There's still other Splinterland assests in which I have attained for free that have monetary value. The next assest we will take a look at is the SPT token. SPT is the token earned on the Splinterlands official blog site Splintertalk. I have roughly 630,000 SPT tokens. Their current value is about $160 USD. I also have 20 ORBS in which was given to me in my Rewards Chests. For those that don't know, Rewards Chest are loot boxes given for daily challenges completed in the Splinterlands game. These Rewards Chest contain Splinterlands assests.

I was lucky enough to find some ORB boosters in some of my Rewards Chest and I managed to keep 20 of them unopened. ORB boosters can no longer be purchased on the official Splinterlands site or attained via the game as they are currently out of print and that brings their value way up from their original cost of $2.50 USD (2500 DEC). Currently those 20 ORBS are valued at roughly $230 USD. This now brings the total to $6,709.32 that Splinterlands has given me for FREE. You may think this is a subtle brag post but its not. This post is to put an explanation point on what can be earned within the game of Splinterlands.

The game itself is about to enter its fourth edition of cards and it might sound like complete BS to you but I'm here to tell you today that its still early in this games conception and getting in today still makes you an early investor/player. So if you were waiting to join the Splinterlands game there is no better time than right now. Land expansion was just introduced and will be "soon" implemented. There's an airdrop about to commence that is set up in such a way that gives even more value (FOR FREE) to those who hold Splinterlands assests. If you wait too long to join you might end up being one of those sitting on the sidelines in the years to come saying,"I remember when RentMoney told me about this game, I should have joined then".

What is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a digital card game created by @aggroed and @yabapmatt. Tournaments are already being played with prizes being offered in which have real monetary value. You can get started with investing in or playing Splinterlands by clicking here. Read all about the recent airdrop announcement via clicking HERE.

Splinterlands Total Market Cap: $21,711,947

Disclaimer: This is not financial advice. The value stated in the title is the value of the Reward cards in my collection not my total collections value. Reward cards are earned for free via playing the Splinterlands game. The vast majority of Reward cards in my collection I got by playing the game or lending out my alt Splinterland accounts to others who then split their won rewards with me. Truth is the amount of USD assets I earned for "Free" from Splinterlands is higher than the number displayed in the title. It was just easier to use the displayed number as its the number I can easily show screenshot proof of.

Splinterlands to the moon!!!

Can't wait for the on-site rental system already. I hope then we will get more people renting cards.

The rental system is one part of Splinterlands I have not looked deeply into. Once its implemented on the official Splinterlands site I'll likely give it more thorough look and possibly start renting out some of my unused monsters.

Not only that but we can keep collecting rewards cards thus adding to our value and collection.

Hmmm, I've never tried filtering on Peakmonsters to view the value of just my Reward edition cards. I'm gonna give it a try, but I doubt it will be as impressive a number as yours. Still it should be a pretty decent amount now.

I just took a peak at your rewards collection. Looks like you got a nice amount in USD as well:)

Not too shabby.

To think that Lord A used to be a reward card.

I remember selling a golden Ruler of the Seas I got for $50 too, can't win 'em all!

I remember wanting a gold foil ROS very badly but for some reason never purchased one. Even with all the new cards added to the game the ROS is still a very good card. I purchased my PLADO EMBERSTORM for just $70. I bought a Gold Foil LOD and Gold Foil Chromatic Dragon for around the same. I don't have a "I sold X card for X amount that is now worth XXX" story yet as I have sold very little of my collection but I suspect some day I'll have a similar story as your ROS to tell. Its crazy that cards that are attained for free can be worth so much. The Lord A is a perfect example.

I agree, its crazy to think cards that are attained for free while playing a game can be worth what they are.

No financial advice: BUT if you invest in Splinterlands assets you will likely end up with doubling or even trippeling your investment. I bought a tract for 1420 BUSD now look at the prices :)

Congrats on your ROI.

It seems as if everything Splinterlands has been giving decent ROI. With the upcoming airdrop for those who hold Splinterlands assests it doesn't look like that trend isn't stopping anytime soon.

3 Months have brought BIG changes my man! Congratulations! I myself am diving in little by little and loving this revenue, I wonder if you have any for sale? I like the common/rare you have hundreds of, I would be interested in 14 of each if you are interested in giving a quote?
Screenshot 420.png

You have an invite to Green Beans if you consider it, couple few of us own a little land and some cards and even in our 3rd brawl we entered ranked 8th we took 2nd place!

The growth is insane.

First off, thanks for the offer to join your guild; its appreciated. I did read your previous reply with the original offer but I was thinking on it before I gave a response. I'll have to say no for now as I just turned down an offer from another guild owner no less then a week ago so I wouldn't feel right accepting an offer to join a guild at present time.

To be honest I don't know much about brawls and I have no clue how much I would participate. Splinterlands has so much going on its hard to keep up with everything as is. Most my foucs is on CL presale at the moment. My card collection is mostly Beta/Rewards with some Alpha mixed in so I'm not sure how well I would do in brawls. With all that in mind if you are still looking for someone to join your guild in some weeks time and still think I'm a good fit, hit me with a message and I'll likely join then.

Early on I seen the value in keeping most my collection as level one cards. I wish I had the foresight to max a set but didn't. I'm not interested in selling 14 of each but I'll hook you up with some free delegations, If its Goblin and Roc you are after I have one of each available at Level 3. If such delegations are any good to you let me know. I just need to know which Splinterlands account you want them delegated to. If its level one delegations of common/rare cards you want then I can easily hook you up with some delegations of those (Free of charge). I just need a laundry list of which ones.

Outstanding, thanks for the offer I do not know how to respond... Free are you sure? I will make a small list for a few of our new players in the guild if so. If you wanted to do it for "rent money" let me know also I would make a list for 10 more accounts and I could rent or split reward cards?

Discord or message here?

As for the guild we need a bit of time to upgrade the hall so this can be beneficial. Also guild brawls are easy, they give us a day or 2 of preparation then 3 days to fill your cards into frays to fight all matches.
Also as for Goblin and ROC I am a noob still learning and not sure who they are unless dartling and the bird thing :D
Thank You!

I was more offering the delegations to you but I have no problem with filling a small order of common/rare requests for new players of your guild. There's allot of clicking with Splinterlands stuff, I try to minimize where I can. I won't remove the delegations intentionally without informing you/ the players who got them first. I have allot of cards with allot of delegations out that I cancel at random so eventually they will be removed.

If you wanted to do it for "rent money" let me know also I would make a list for 10 more accounts and I could rent or split reward cards?

Interesting you should bring this up. I use to have 12-15 players playing from my Beta alt accounts on a 50/50 split of all rewards. I am down to three players at present time (currently renting earns more but I would never take the accounts away from players who played them for a year+). There' too much going on currently but its possible we can work out a deal in the upcoming weeks.

Also as for Goblin and ROC I am a noob still learning and not sure who they are unless dartling and the bird thing :D

Those are the cards you have screenshoted in your reply. I thought those were the ones you were most interested in. It didn't help that I was lazy and didn't type out their full names (Goblin Shaman / Giant Roc).

I was looking then realized all the big number of cards they have as starter cards lol
As for the grinding vs. renting I cannot argue yet I have many accounts so grind alot and not alot of cards... one day!
My staked SPS is barely getting me 100 presale vouchers yet it looks I will be able to keep buying 100 packs a month for some time...
I can only imagine your plans... & if renting profits ever lessen let me know I would be happy to run some accounts with cards for a 50/50 split. I even keep them grinding and earn extra DEC, keep that collection power workin!
