Three Reasons Why You Should Stake Your SPS Tokens

Do you hold SPS Tokens? Do you have those tokens staked? If so you are currently getting an airdrop for the token named GLX. The GLX token is the token for the upcoming GLS game that is being created by Splinterlands and partners. You don't have to do anything other than stake SPS to qualify (SPS can be staked on the official Splinterlands site in your SPS wallet section). To see your GLX daily (Yes I said daily) airdrop simply log in the GLS site and at the top corner of the screen you will see your GLX total. No worries if you haven't created a GLS account yet. Regardless of when you log in your airdrop will be waiting for you. In the future GLX tokens will be stakable. Once staked GLX Tokens will start earning you a token called GLGT which is the Genesis League Voucher Token (Similar to The Splinterland Voucher Token).

(1) Account Creation Link: https://goals.genesisleaguesports.com/
(2) Click Log In::Located at top corner of your screen
(3) Click Register
(4) Enter Email / Confirm Email
(5) Accept Terms Of Service / Click Create Password
(6) Click Verification Link In Email Sent To You
(7) Go Back To https://goals.genesisleaguesports.com/
(8) Click On Wallets
(9) Enter Your Hive Wallet Address
(10) Click Confirm On KeyChain Pop-up Screen

Keychain will be needed to participate in GSL Presale (To learn more about the presale go to the GLS official site and click the shop icon). Regardless of if you are interested in the GLX airdrop or not the secure log in app Keychain is something every HIVE Blockchain user should look into. The app makes HIVE account switching a breeze and keeps our keys safe.

Splinterland Voucher Drops

If the above wasn't a good enough reason for you to stake your SPS token here is another. Staking your SPS will allow you to get airdropped the Splinterlands Voucher Token. (What is the Voucher Token?) The voucher token gives deep discounts on Splinterland assets. For example currently they can be used to purchase Tower Defense Packs (Nightmare) at a $3 discount. Meaning if you use a voucher when purchasing a Nightmare pack you will pay a total of 5,000 DEC + a Voucher for that pack. However if you don't have a voucher the pack will cost you a total of 8,000 DEC. That is a 3,000 DEC savings when you use a Voucher. Packs aren't the only thing that get heavy discounts when Vouchers are used. SPS Validator Node purchases will also be sold to you at a discount if using Vouchers when purchasing. Vouchers, its always better to have them then not. Are you still not convinced to stake your SPS?

SPS Governance Votes

Alright if getting FREE stuff isn't your cup of tea how about POWER. Yes, I said POWER. Staking your SPS gives you the POWER to help stear the direction the Splinterlands game is headed. This is because SPS is the governance token of the Splinterlands game. In fact currently (11/03/2022) there are four Proposals that need your voting on. You and other stake holders get to decide if these proposals pass or not. To vote on a proposal all one needs to do is log in the official Splinterlands site. Once logged in there will be a pop up in the top corner that lets you know there are proposals for you to vote on. The pop up will show each time you log in until you vote on the proposal. Follow the instructions in the pop up to cast your vote. The more SPS tokens you have staked the more influence you have over the decisions on what passes or don't. Alternatively you can click the ignore button and the pop up will vanish and not reappear until you start a new Splinterlands session but why do that when you can instead yield your power by voting.

Good overview. Yes I am staking every SPS I can get my hands on because of the rewards mentioned. Especially the Genesis game could be a game changer in the coming year for Hive. Like Splinterlands did 2021.

Undoubtedly betting on SPS is very lucrative but lately it is also becoming interesting for governance, there are a lot of very interesting proposals. Whether one votes for or against. It certainly gives us users some power.

I'm still waiting on that one proposal that the community is completely split on. We might end up seeing some whale size SPS movement if something like that ever becomes reality.

GLS was loading fine for me earlier in the day. Peakmonsters however has been sluggish for me. Its likely something on my end. Currently I'm on an old work computer.

Tonight was the fastest the homepage itself has loaded for me (4 min 32 sec) but that's still as far as I've been able to get since the presale first started. Clicking on login get's me one of the images below every time. I've tried refreshing, hard refreshing, clearing browser cache, restarting browser, restarting computer.. everything else on Hive is working fine though 🤷‍♂

Looks like you have done just about every suggestion I would have thought up. The only others I can think of is (1) check to see if your current browser needs to be updated (2) try a different browser (3) Try to log in from a different device.

What an excellent post. I've been searching for info how lucrative SPS token is, now I know.

Please may I know how much of SPS need to be staked in order to take advantage of both airdrops?

There isn't a set amount for airdrop requirements. How much SPS that is needed to be staked to see the minimum decimal point of a Voucher or GLX token is forever fluctuating based on staked supply of the total SPS tokens that have been released. For example if a whale or two decides to unstake their SPS tokens everyone who is staking the SPS token will see an increase in airdropped assets. The same is true in reverse; if a whale decides to stake a massive amount of SPS everyone's airdrop percentage would be slightly smaller thus making everyone's airdropped asset percentage slightly smaller.

No verification is needed for staking SPS tokens. It can be done in the SPS wallet on the official Splinterlands site (click the yellow crystal icon next to your splinterlands/Hive user name while logged in).

Nice post! Yes, staking SPS tokens give great rewards. At the moment, I am unstaking my ones to get Riftie packs; one more buy-round and then I will be back to 100% staking.

SPS does have use but sometimes I wonder if the power really makes much of a difference. At least my own voting power of like 20k doesn't really seem to move the needle much.

One 20K vote doesn't move the needle allot but many 20K votes do. Keep voting on proposals you deem worthy of your vote. Every vote counts with helping voice the opinion of stake holders.
