Do you remember when you created your Facebook account? What was your thought back then? Maybe you saw your friends using Facebook. You signed up and connected with your friends. You shared different things over there and had fun.
What did your parents think then? They thought Facebook was for college students. But now parents and grandparents are more active over there. In a centralized platform, the company can do what they want. On the flip side, in a decentralized platform, you are in control. No one can delete your post and you enjoy total freedom. The company behind a centralized platform gets the most financial benefits. But you can make money directly from your content on a platform like Hive. People are moving towards decentralized social media where they own what they share and do.

I agree that your content is yours and it can't be deleted by anyone but it can be muted/hidden depending on the front-end/community.

One frontend can mute, it may visible in another frontend. The good thing is, it will always be there. The more people realize what a decentralized platform offers, the more people start using it.
