# The Splintergains report - parabolic growth for the game and anything related - Splinter Stats Season 55 Report Card
@riandeuk
Wow, just wow.. Splinterlands just keeps amazing me. When I thought last season things had gone crazy, I was kind of expecting for things to cool down afterwards. The release of the airdrop was done, there were some issues with the servers (devs didn't expect the extreme amount of players battling at the end of season) and things just seemed ridiculous to go on like that for much longer..
Boy I was wrong, did my collection value show signs of incredible growth before, it did that again and then some.. New players are signing up every day, more players are playing every day and the total market cap of cards has only increased. When I started playing I thought it was quite impressive to have a game with digital assets that had a combined value of 10m. I mean.. that's a lot of money! I'll check again this second: 169m.. It will cross 170m before the end of the day I'm sure. have a look for yourself!
But that's not the only metric that amazes me, https://peakmonsters.com/dashboard# has a bunch of cool stats and they basically all say the same thing: parabolic growth each and every day. Sure it could be that it's still hyped but just a prolonged one. Or it could mean people actually like to own their gaming assets and earn a bit of coin while enjoying their games, you tell me!
Only downside is the dried up markets and only a few reward cards still being printed, as nobody expected these kind of numbers and the devs had to fix the biggest issues it brought along, all assets are completely sold out and the secondary market has gotten very expensive. I like owning my assets and am happy I got here a few months before the craze so I do actually own a bunch of cards. But starting out now is kinda hard and can be a grind. Luckily there's the rental market accessible in-game or on peakmonsters.com. For people starting out this is a great opportunity. You can use the dec you win to rent some much stronger cards even just for a day and get ahead fast. I've seen people that started this very month already up in gold league where they start to get much better rewards.
For anyone owning cards they don't play this is great too, I've actually rented out a lot of cards myself. Because I rent most of the cards I use actively in the game on a higher level to get ahead myself. Renting cards out creates a stream of dec coming in daily or, in my case, off-sets some of the costs of the cards I rent.
But like I said in the end I'd like to own most of my cards and that part is real slow at the moment. No packs to buy or win, very few reward cards in the reward chests. Over the coming months the new Chaos Legion set will be released, so that will change things considerably. Also heard about new reward cards being introduced at some point in the future, guess we have to be patient a little longer. For now you have the choice of paying a high price, winning some cards from the rewards chest and hope you get lucky, join give aways or if you're feeling particularly lucky you can join one of the raffles set up by our guild futuredecbagholders on the discord: https://discord.gg/Uke3GkMn
There's so much more happening, for example the new guild brawl system 2.0 and SPS staking and ongoing airdrop. But that would be too much for this report, another day! Let's jump into the numbers and nitty gritty and see how I did this season.

Performance wasn't great, as I play a good amount in battles in diamond now I also tend to lose a lot more. The daily quest turns into a bit of a grind some days. It is what it is, you win or you learn (I know, I know cliche). Most important thing to note: Diamond 2. That's a first and am kinda proud. 50 shiny chests at season end is a great thing, we'll see at the end of the report if it held anything worthy.
Top 10 Summoner Usage

Vera Salacia | 1 | 0.43% | 0.00% |
To my suprise it's Malric in the number 1 spot, expected Lyanna to be honest as it's by far my strongest deck lately. Maybe I hadn't figured it out completely last season. You can definitely see I got 3 summoners on par for the higher leagues. First one to guess gets an upvote on the comment ;-)

Dems the rules, I seriously think the ruleset should be ordered by win rate rather than frequency. It be easier to see where you lack and are strong. Quick glance says I don't like legendaries (lies! guess I don't rely on them as much as I thought) do like armor and like it when melee and ranged hit their target. I suck at back to basics, don't like that rule and on mobile it doesn't show so I forget sometimes and create some synergetic skillset that's not there, ouch..

There we are, the loot, the coin, the treasure, what did we gain this season?! 2 epics and 2 gold foils, no legendaries unfortunately, total gains in dec value: 30979 DEC that's more than double of last season, must be the quest potions, they ad 5 chests a day to your rewards :-)
Collection progress since last season
Let's have a look at the progress compared to earlier seasons:
Another one close to x3 in 2 weeks, wait no it's more like 3,5 weeks. I'm rather late with this report. Still it's an insane increase of $600. Most of it is from valuation as I'm not really getting a lot of cards at the moment. And actually haven't ever bought any new cards. This is all still from the 10 dollar spellbook, 1 pack of 2 dollar and the reward cards and packs I got from chests.. Maybe 7-8 cards I bought with dec before the prices went up way high. Looking to buy some packs as soon as the new set releases, but the way things are I'll break the 1000 collection value almost free to play, can't complain about that!

Last season I was 23k dec i the red on rentals, some are still going and I'm trying to keep the rentals down and short on time to keep dec available for the airdrop and new rentals for daily quests. Made a bunch of dec from my own rentals and got a lot of refund from cancellations. 6k in the red is very acceptable on a 30k dec gain season. Hope to break even at some point with the cards I'm renting out myself.

SPS, another great earner. 100 this season, but I'm close to 200 staked at the moment. This is just money being thrown at you, whatever the price is going to do (I imagine it will go up with all the demand but who knows) it's free gains and I'm excited to see what use cases and advantages it's going to bring in the future.
So that's it, lot of growth, lot of gain, so I can't complain (call my manager if you want to use that quote!). This journey really has been incredible and we're only getting started.
How was your season? Did you get some good rewards? Struggling with anything in the game? Let me know in the comments below. Haven't started playing Splinterlands? Well, you've missed the boat then, more Call of Duty and clash royale it is for you.
