Planting broad beans in the ground
Today we are going to prepare our agriculture to put some broad beans that are very appreciated in my country Portugal and are very good to eat made only with olive oil as well as mixed with various meats in the pot.
To start the day before I had to prepare the soil I had to water it to soften the soil a little, as the soil here is a little muddy and tightens a lot.
Then we have to dig the earth to a depth of about 10 cm at least to turn it over and soften it to place the seeds.
After we dig the earth, which is always hard work, I have traditionally done it with spouts here in my country and in this so-called area I opened some gullies where the fava beans will be placed.
After we have the furrows open to place the fava seeds, we have to at least put some organic fertilizer in this case, in this case a little tanned manure already in the furrows where the fava beans will be placed to germinate.
Then we place the broad bean seeds in the furrows, they can be done two or three, spaced between 4 to 5 cm or as I do a path with them getting closer together, but it has the advantage of after they grow and as here there is some strong wind if they are together don't break so much.
Finally, cover these trenches with the seeds of the fava beans placed in the right place and water them from above, like a shower, so as not to make holes in the soft earth that has just been dug.
After a week or a week and a half of watering every day at least the first plants should be appearing in the soil.
