1st Week On HIVE - Addictive Elements

A Week In The Life...

7 days have passed, and I am still here!

Let's start this off by saying the Hive Blockchain is: exciting, confusing, addicting and frustrating all at the same time!

Today's post will touch on the ADDICTIVE aspect..

1st Week On HIVE.jpeg

My Entrepreneurial Variable...

Outside of the blockchain, my journey has been filled with entrepreneurial endeavours. For nearly 20 years, I have basked in the joys & endured the pains of being my own boss.

For much of life, I have been running my own construction company. During most of these years, I also built business in the entertainment industry. This expanded into the wild purchasing of a Nightclub | Lounge | Liquor Store. The Nightclub was born from a decade long side hustle of throwing events through an event promotions company I started (with the help of my brother @jongolson)

The Nightclub has since been sold. Advice of the day: never buy a nightclub.

Moving along..

Having my income reflect the work that I put into business has always interested me. I dread the 9-5 work week. Entrepreneurs can relate. This lifestyle is an addiction; an extension of oneself; a path not for the faint of heart!

You are bound to fail more than once on this path (as have I). You get up after you have been knocked down, take the hits as a learning motivator, pull yourself up from your bootstraps and have resilience.

It takes confidence to constantly walk blindly into new environments, carving out your own destiny; not succumbing to setbacks, but instead using them as fuel to be better for the next approach.

Entrepreneurship is exciting; entrepreneurship is confusing; entrepreneurship is frustrating...You guessed it--entrepreneurship is....ADDICTING!

The reasons that I reveal this:

  1. Even with all of the business knowledge, I know next to nothing about cryptocurrencies.

  2. I fast learned that entrepreneurship outside of the blockchain fits perfectly inside the blockchain as well!

  3. There are thousands like me just waiting to be convinced.

As It Relates To Hive...

This is where I draw my parallel: just as entrepreneurship represents all of these attributes--cryptocurrency with the HIVE Blockchain does as well! Another noteworthy factor that drives the spirit of both is the volatility that comes with it.

The addiction comes from that uncertainty; from the requirement to analyze the formulas that work and to maximize wherever you can, however you can--while maintaining a quality product to offer!

It was apparent immediately upon signing up, that cryptocurrency on the HIVE Blockchain IS Entrepreneurship, and I see how it can be addicting providing you have the work ethic needed to be an entrepreneur in this space.

You either love walking into the chaos of the hot coals of entrepreneurship, or prefer the order of assurance in feeling the complete security of bubble wrap.

After navigating this site for a week, I have witnessed so many walking into the hot coals, expressing their passions & being that entrepreneur; all while transacting in cryptocurrency. It is clear that 95% of the people in here have some degree of that spirit. Which makes this environment addicting for the likeminded; an environment for creatives to thrive.

In my opinion, that's badass, and it sparks fire into me to join the party.
Cryptocurrency, with all of its risk and volatility, offers that attractor factor to the entrepreneurial mind; it feeds that same addiction.

In my case, even with all of my business experience, I communicate in Tagalog better than I navigate cryptocurrencies, but I see the allure. As chance would have it (plus a friends perseverance), Hive may be the gateway for me to embark on a journey in which I never look back from.

In Closing...

One does not need to be an expert in finance in order to have a place on the blockchain. What one needs is the willingness to put in the work creating content, while creating community by providing feedback for others. The more consistent that you are with it, the more favourable results you will yield (entrepreneurship).

Basic fundamentals of how traditional social media is used, easily translates into a baseline on how to get the ball rolling on Hive.

One week in on this site, I know a sliver more about crypto than I did 2 weeks ago. However, having a foot in the door knowing that the resources needed to learn, are an arms reach near, is reassuring.

The ability to enter a turnkey learning model mode while actively participating in the building (even at a snails pace), gives this site an addictive factor that no other platforms can provide.

After one week, there are no regrets!

Our local @scaredycatguide has a crypto book you can snag for super cheap usually if you're interested. It's geared to beginners with bitcoin but is super informative and helpful in general.

This brings me back to my first days of getting involved here in late 2017. I was overwhelmed, to say the least, but also determined to figure things out and be successful. Fast forward to 2022 and I am so happy that I decided to put so much effort in here, my life has been forever changed and I look forward to seeing others win with me by continuing to use Hive to change the world for many years to come.
