PoS Problems
One of the problems of PoS networks is the lack of liquidity of stacked assets. This is because once the tokens are staked, users cannot use or unstake them until the lock period ends. This makes users who don't want to leave their tokens locked to avoid this type of stake. So, to increase the liquidity of staked tokens Lido offers a new staking option.
What is Lido?
It is a solution that brings liquidity to ethereum staked tokens, which has been expanding to other well-known PoS blockchains like Solana, Matic, Polkadot...
It works as follows: The user stakes his token in Lido's smart contract and receives a liquidity token that represents that stake, for example 1 ETH in Stake = 1 stETH. Thus, the user has more liquidity to use this token in yield farming or as collateral.
This solution of representative tokens manages to solve the problem of the lack of liquidity of staked assets, the complexity of using a node and also the entry barriers of PoS staking, which in Ethereum requires a minimum of 32 ETH.
