Catch 22 - $CUB Price and my CUB Tokens

avatar

Do you remember the fanfare when Cub defi launched? The Leo-finance discord went crazy and the dedicated members were super excited in experiencing their first ever (well, for most of them) DeFi experience. Of course, there were the original DeFi gurus who helped others in figuring out metamask, trust wallet, contract address, BNB fees and so many other minor technicalities.

The price went up and created euphoria. I was also super surprised that the initial interest on the platform was that high. Having experience of aping into anonymous project certainly helped me at that point. I had the comfort of knowing the team behind the most talked about DeFi on Binance Smart Chain.

I was not a whale. But, I invested on Cub finance wholeheartedly with whatever fund I had back then. I brought cake-bnb pair and my cake pot into Cub finance to join the bandwagon.

After the initial pump the price started to drop. The discussion dried up. At point, I even remember readers were fed up of reading articles about Cub defi. Well, the crypto cycle is real. What went up will come down and the cub token price plummeted.

The drop in price has not recovered until now. The initial price pump was because of the investors who wanted to reap the early benefit. They did that and once they discovered great APY in some other defi game, they left. The price bottom, in my opinion, has been maintained by the diamond hands on Hive who don't know how to let go of the tokens they have.

I am not an old HIVE soul but I think I have acquired some of that qualities in spending time with other Hive members for more than a year now. I am holding all the cub that I farmed using the platform.

CATCH 22 - CUB Price

Here's a funny scenario. Any time my $CUB pot is about to reach or reaches $1000 mark, the $CUB price plummets. It is happening when the price of CUB was stable around $2.50. I am accumulating more Cub tokens but the dollar value is constant at $1000. I am not there is divine intervention but I am beginning to think there is an ongoing ultimate conspiracy to not let me have $1000 worth of Cub tokens.
I need to confess that I swapped Cub for BUSD to increase my LP bag and that may have done its part in reducing my CUB pot.

I wish this Catch 22 spiral stops. I want new investors in and pump the price. I know the team is working hard but it takes time to translate all the work into success and to the price action. So, what do I do until then? I will first wait for my dollar bag to reach $1000 in $CUB terms. And, we will see what next.

BTW, did you pool BNB and SPS? A new Kingdom is live on Cubdefi.

Our focus is very heavily on raising TVL and the rollout of 6 more scheduled IDOs

I firmly believe in the long-term value accrual of Cub that we’ve been building. It’s all contingent on a constantly growing TVL on Kingdoms and IDO massive burns. Sometimes it just takes a long-term view for the fundamental payoff 🦁🚀

I agree. In the day and age of instant profits and gratifications, it is relatively tough to focus on long term benefits. Traders and profit hunters are looking for short term gains. The long term benefits should be displayed for big investors. I believe you and the team are working tirelessly to bring in investors and grow that magical TVL figure. On my part, i am holding all my CUBs for sure.

I am also one of these little fish who has noticed that I cant seem to increase the value of my cub stack above what Ive invested. Its a strange phenomenon! But I keep holding : )

It's the nature of the coin. The price depends on incoming investors or the number of ways we destroy coins compared to minted coins. The price cannot stabilize with the support of old hands. And, it is less show with little fishes like us. I am holding and holding and holding until there is nothing left to hold :P But, I will hold.

Please, sell all but one CUB. After doing that, your personal Catch 22 dictates that 1 CUB will be worth $1000. You would do us all a huge favor :)

That's a great, great idea. Rather than selling cub, I should create a BNB-CUB LP of the remaining cub and leave 1 CUB in the kingdom. May be that will break the dreadlock. Thanks for the idea though :D

I don't think that you are the only one responsible for the price drop. I have a fair share in it too. As do many others :)

It will go up again eventually, don't worry.

It will go up once the team finds out ways to burn, which they are, and lure new investors in with smart ideas to play to the defi game. Thanks for stopping by.

As Cub Finance (CUB) is an inflationary rewards coin, we just need to find an equilibrium between buyers and sellers.

Burns from fees, IDOS and Kingdoms are all mechanisms designed to help reduce supply.

Then the focus shifts to increasing demand through yield and a trustworthy platform to move across chains.

Once that equilibrium is found, then the price bleeding will stop and investors can just let the money printer do its thing.

Here's a funny scenario. Any time my $CUB pot is about to reach or reaches $1000 mark, the $CUB price plummets.

I don't think the big sellers dragging down the CUB price look at your $1000 stack and say "we're going to screw raamesa today."

Or maybe they do?

What do I know?

;)

I cannot agree more. My suggestion to the team is to come up with innovating and exciting defi game solution to keep investors in the platform. Investors won't join until there are high yields (brand new defi platforms) or it is interesting or it is highly reputable (aave).

The big sellers don't like my have $1000 CUB in my kingdom. A user suggested I should keep 1 CUB in my kingdom so that the sellers are forced to keep the peg :P That's a great great idea.
