GIVE ME LEO - Goal Analysis – Another 10K in 2022?

avatar

Financial goals are typically set in January. That’s the norm, at least. I did not think much about my financial goals for 2022 earlier this year as I overjoyed by the fact that I achieved two of the goals that I set for 2021. I managed to own a house and I also managed to get to 10,000 Leopower. The other two goals that I could not achieve in 2021 were 5000 Hive power and owning 1 BTC. Reflecting back on the goals I set, I feel I was too ambitious and the goals were super lofty. There was no way I would have achieved the goals to own BTC the same year I was buying a house. And, bot asset classes have its All-Time High market valuation during the pandemic in 2021.

Looking back, I think I did amazingly good. Now it’s time to think about what I would achieve this year, in 2022.

Lessons learned

What I have learned last year is the importance of being flexible. I started out with four goals but I branched out to too many additional goals that hampered my growth. It should not be like that. I should have stuck to my original financial goals no matter what. Getting distracted and adapt to a new situation are entirely different concepts.

Adapting to a situation means to make changes to the goals you already have and adopt new goals without leaving or significantly impacting the one you already have. One the other hand, getting distracted is similar to be paper hands. You follow the next shiny items you find on your way. I think what I did last year was to get distracted with so many new shiny items. That ultimately hampered my consistency and focus on my Hive goals.

I think I learnt my lessons and will focus more on the task at hand. That does not necessarily mean I would not look into new crypto projects. I could open new positions but I would not neglect my goals.

5,000 Hive Power

Being realistic to your goals is the best thing you can do. I am at 2360 HP at the moment. I am not converting my HBD to Hive anymore. That means, I have to rely on my author and curator posts to earn the next 2700 HP. That’s a lot if I am only relying on the author and curation rewards. I know that I could gather and use profits from other sites to buy more Hive or pick Hive if it ever comes back to the “load” zone at around 75 cents.

I know this is very doable in the next 10 months. I will keep laser eyed on this goal.

16,000 Leo Power

This is something I want to exceed as a goal. I know that I managed to make 10K in 2021 and it should be absolutely possible for me to add another 10K LP this year. I did a quick back of the envelope calculation on my current situation.

I am pretty active on Leofinance and I curate daily. That means I will have my curation and author rewards that will help me achieve this goal. For instance, I calculated my APR for the month of February until now. I managed to get 4.75 Leo per day through curation and I averaged out 7 Leo per day through my posts. That gives me 11.75 Leo a day today which is not enough to hit the target. For me to reach my target of 16K, I need to at least make 18.8 Leo a day for the next 10 months. So, the difference is around 7 Leo a day.

With this calculation, I need to up my game through writing big reward posts or manage to bring in asset from other platforms to Leofinance like I did last year. It is not looking bright now but I think I will be able to achieve this target and exceed it. Let’s see how this goes with the Leo price and other variables that impact my passive income sources.

Oh, and 1 BTC

I think my financial goals this year are very realistic. I made a post earlier on where I noted that apart from these two Hive related goals, all my effort will go into accumulating as much BTC as I can until I reach 1 BTC. That’s the primary goal.

My primary goal is to also hit a solid Bitty. Would love that! I’m making good progress at it for sure but would love a couple more dips to help me along the way :D

These are some good goals man! That’s awesome earning 4 leo a day in curation! I’m earning roughly half a leo a day on my leo account which is great. I get 5 out of 7 days with that waiting to be powered up so I’ve definitely enjoyed being able to do that.

I like that you’re not ignoring the base layer though. Hive power is important for many reasons but I think as we saw, when the price of hive really goes up then it’s a lot harder to get good liquid hive amounts. I think you should probably be able to hit that goal by the beginning to middle of December.

I wish I was as focused as I am now last year. It was not that tough for me to reach 2.5K had I not ventured out and wondered around with other tokens.
I am not sure if I will be able to pocket a single BTC coin this year but I will try to accumulate as much as possible. Owning 1 BTC means you are more than a millionaire :)

You've got great goals. I always like to set my goals so high too. Almost unrealistic. 10k leo is no joke! You've done well. I wish you accomplish your remaining goals.

Thanks for stopping by. I don't know how I did 10K in a year when Leo was hovering around $1 for most of the months.

. I am not converting my HBD to Hive anymore

Whomever I talked , that is the choice of everyone but I am going crazy on Hive. Converted HBD to Hive even when Hive was at $2.5. I am not stopping in it.

Best of luck for 5K HP and another 10 K LEO.

You have a point. For me, I am trying to show that I can earn real dollars blogging on Hive I guess. I think I will be better off in reaching my target if I convert everything I get as reward.
