Crazy Hats Kick Butt!

I've recently started kicking my online marketing into overdrive and it's working out wonderfully.

My wife knows I like hats, and she has been buying me hats that are humorous\funny since I came up with the idea of 'crazy hat marketing'.

I wear a crazy hat when I am marketing my stuff.

See, what I want to do is wear a humorous or 'crazy' hat while I am recording my videos, as a way to differentiate me from others.

I recently wrote a blog post on being different or standing out in your online efforts, and the dividends the extra effort pays.

My personal goal of #DoNOTBreakTheChain started all this.

I have a confession to make: I procrastinate. I find it difficult to stay on top of my game all the time. I will start a project and not finish it.

In order to combat that, I was talking in our CTP channel the other day, and Lisa Gentile recommended a book called "Consistency is the New Currency". I ordered a copy and I was hooked.

The book recommends a simple method to use to stay on top of your tasks or goals:

  • Write the goal as an 'ER' goal, such as: I want to be bettER, richER, etc. Th goal itself is rather loose.
  • Come up with a simple step you can do every day in the direction of that goal. For me, that was writing or working on my email marketing auto-responder every day for 25 minutes.
  • Each day that you complete your task, put an X on your calendar for that day.
  • The goal is to have a CHAIN of Xs that are unbroken. In other words you are making a consistent chain of Xs on your calendar.

That's it. Simple and doable for the rest of us who procrastinate.

Well, I decided I would do this, so I bought a journal and drew a calendar in it. Then I began working on my tasks daily, and have kept up with this for 19 days straight. Here's my calendar:

I am not asking you to do this, but just showing you that it can be done.

As a 'reward' I post a selfie.

I started putting selfies here on Faces of Hive as my 'reward' for my writing on my auto responder. I enjoy doing this part, and it's a nice reward.

Above is my reward photo for today. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, especially since Waffle House kicks butt.

Peace and Love,

-Rob

Thanks Lisa. My wife has bought me several hats now, but this one is one of my favorites.

I am thankful you told me about the book.

Yeah, I see the manual answers. Interesting re: the cost involved in running the @hivebuzz. I read your proposal page and the costs involved in keeping this running is higher than I though, but it makes sense. :) I upvoted your proposal. I hope you get the funding you need.
