The attitude
It is more than clear that not everything is based on theoretical knowledge or being an excellent analyst, neither technical nor fundamental. I have seen many cases, also from my own experience, where the analysis is wonderful, but the attitude or mental strength is not.
Many times it has happened to me that I make a perfect analysis of what is going to happen in some market, even when I read many who could not see it in the same way, however, I was not trained or mentally trained in the right way to face such investment or operation.
A clear case was this fall of cryptocurrencies, which started in November 2021, where I could clearly glimpse the crash that we are witnessing today, however, doubt, distrust, listening to others, fear or greed, played against me and I thought it would not be possible to go down so much and therefore I missed several stages in this fall.

La actitud
Está más que claro que no todo está basado en el conocimiento teórico o en ser un excelente analista, ni técnico ni de fundamentos. Muchísimos casos he visto, además desde mi experiencia propia, donde el análisis es maravilloso, sin embargo la actitud o la fortaleza mental, no.
Muchas veces me ha ocurrido que hago un análisis perfecto de lo que va a ocurrir en algún mercado, incluso cuando leo a muchos que no lo podían ver de la misma manera, sin embargo, no estaba entrenado o capacitado mentalmente de la forma correcta para afrontar dicha inversión u operación.
Un caso claro fue esta bajada de las criptomonedas, iniciada en noviembre del 2021, donde claramente pude vislumbrar la caida estrepitosa que hoy presenciamos, sin embargo, la duda, la desconfianza, el escuchar a los demás, el miedo o la codicia, me jugaron en contra y creí que no sería posible bajar tanto y por ello desaproveché varias etapas dentro de esta caída.
But, bearing this in mind, what are the attitudinal aspects that we should take into account when making investments?
Pero, teniendo esto en mente, ¿cuáles son los aspectos actitudinales que debemos tener en cuenta al momento de realizar inversiones?
1- CONTROL THE RISK WE TAKE - Controlar el riesgo que asumimos
It is always a risk to invest or operate in variable income assets. Although it is precisely in that risk where a higher profitability is found, with respect to other investment instruments, it is important that if we manage our own investments or operate our money in Trading, we must choose the strategies to manage the risk in the best way.
In this way, we will save ourselves a lot of suffering, because we will always be calmer in the face of volatilities and price fluctuations, which will allow us to make appropriate decisions with a "cool head".
Siempre es un riesgo invertir u operar en activos de renta variable. Aunque es precisamente en ese riesgo donde se encuentra una mayor rentabilidad, con respecto a otros instrumentos de inversión, es importante que si nosotros manejamos nuestras propias inversiones u operamos nuestro dinero en Trading, debemos escoger las estrategias para gestionar el riesgo de la mejor forma.
De esta manera, nos ahorraremos mucho sufrimiento, pues siempre estaremos más tranquilos ante las volatilidades y las fluctuaciones del precio, lo que nos permitirá tomar decisiones adecuadas y con la "cabeza fría".
2- TO STOP THE OPERATION IN TIME - Frenar la operativa a tiempo
Many times we have very good days and very bad days, but it is fixed that those two types of days are the ones in which we operate more.
In the first case, we become greedy and want even more and more, because we believe we are invincible and we overtrade the markets, which increases the chances of losing what we have earned and even losing more than that.
In the second case, anger arises because we are losing more than we want and this leads us to the search for the "revenge", but the outcome in that case is the same; the probability of loss increases by over trading the market.
It is always best to limit the amount of operations that we will perform daily or simultaneously to a specific number of operations or investments, according to our capital.
For example, I trade a maximum of five assets daily and simultaneously.
Muchas veces tenemos días muy buenos y días muy malos, pero es fijo que esos dos tipos de días son en los que más operamos.
En el primer caso, nos ocurre que se aviva la codicia y queremos aun más y más, porque nos creemos invencibles y sobre operamos en los mercados, lo cual aumenta las probabilidades de perder lo que hemos ganado e incluso, perder más que eso.
En el segundo caso, surge el enfado porque vamos perdiendo más de lo que deseamos y esto nos lleva a la búsqueda de la "revancha, pero el desenlace en ese caso es el mismo; la probabilidad de perdida aumenta por sobre operar el mercado.
Siempre lo mejor es acotar la cantidad de operaciones que realizaremos diariamente o en simultaneo a una cantidad específica de operaciones o inversiones, de acuerdo a nuestro capital.
Yo por ejemplo, opero máximo cinco activos diarios y en simultaneo.
3- MANAGING EMOTIONS - Controlar las emociones
Emotional control is very important. One way to keep it is to always write down, as an algorithm, the actions during the operation.
In case something expected happens (the market goes in the direction you want it to go), or something unexpected (it goes in the opposite direction), writing down your course of action is a good idea.
Why is that? Well, when you wrote down your course of action, you were with your rational "SELF", and not with your emotional "SELF" at the wheel, so when either of the two cases occur in trading, having everything already written down, you will allow yourself to give control to your rational "SELF", and thus keep emotions on the sidelines.
El control de las emociones es muy importante. Una forma de mantenerlo es siempre anotar, a modo algoritmo, las acciones durante la operación.
En caso de que ocurra algo esperado (que el mercado vaya en la dirección que quieres), o algo inesperado (que vaya en el sentido opuesto), anotar cual es tu línea de acción es buena idea.
¿Por qué? Pues, cuando anotaste la línea de acción, estabas con tu "YO" racional, y no con tu "YO" emocional al volante, entonces al ocurrir cualquiera de los dos casos en operativa, teniendo ya todo escrito, te permitirás darle el control a tu "YO" racional, y de ese modo mantener las emociones al margen.
4- BE HONEST - Ser honestos
This has to do with being honest with yourself, when the trade goes right or wrong. If your trading plan defines that your exit in profit or loss is at some point. Respect it. Be honest and sincere with yourself and do not open back the trade or move the Stop Loss in case the trade is about to end.
Esto tiene que ver con sincerarte, cuando la operación salga bien o mal. Si tu plan de trading define que tu salida en ganancia o en pérdida es en algún punto. Respétalo. Sé honesto y sincero contigo mismo y no abras de vuelta la operación o muevas el Stop Loss en caso de que la operación esté por finalizar.
5- OPEN TO KNOWLEDGE AND KEEP US INFORMED - Abrirnos al conocimiento y mantenernos informados
Knowledge and information is the most important capital we manage in investments and trading, and we cannot close ourselves to these great assets in our lives. We must remain in constant openness, allowing more and more information and updates in the technology we use, brokers, and in the same assets or stocks (for example) where we are investing or trading.
If you don't know something, learn it. Educate yourself, it is like investing, but in yourself first.
El conocimiento y la información es el capital más importante que manejamos en las inversiones y en el trading, y no podemos cerrarnos a estos grandes activos en nuestra vida. Debemos permanecer en constante apertura, permitiendo que entre cada vez mayor información y con las actualizaciones tanto en tecnología que usamos, brokers, y en los mismos activos u acciones (por ejemplo) en donde estamos invirtiendo u operando.
Si no sabes de algo, aprende. Edúcate, es como invertir, pero en ti mismo primero.
