Extra! Extra! Read All About It!

Gather round! Gather round! Let me toss you the morning paper please, and you can read about the EXCITING news from Splinterlands today! Yes, it UPDATED!!

Perhaps you were playing this morning when the servers went down for just a few minutes. That was the first indication something might be happening. However, if you are in Splinterlands' Discord server, you can also get information on what the latest updates are for the game! This particular update may seem like nothing, but it's a GAME CHANGER for the game! Why? Well, let's dig right into the update! YIPPPEE!!

What Changed and What's so Amazing about the Update?

Well, @cryptomancer, the Splinterlands and Hive Engine Developer, posted in the Splinterlands' Discord server about an hour ago all the new updates. He mentioned that a few bugs were fixed regarding the season rewards. Apparently they were not appearing correctly for some, so that is now fixed if you were having problems with it.

Secondly, a new option to choose the referral name has been offered when a new account is created in Splinterlands! This option will be AMAZING for those who, like me, hope that we can refer people to the game and they want to give us the credit for leading them there! The referral program has always been exceptional, because it does not hurt the one who is creating the account in any way and it benefits the one who offered the referral of Splinterlands in a GREAT WAY! You can use those credits you get from a referral to buy cards, rent cards or buy potions!

Third, they have added filters on the Collection screen that include those cards that are delegated out to someone or those who delegated cards to you personally. This feature will of course be helpful, because you can visually see much clearer where you're getting your cards from. They also changed existing filters as well. An example Cryptomancer used was "For Sale no longer includes rentals".

Fourth, they added a button so that you can unlink your wallet if you ever wanted to do that. Now, I'm not sure why I would ever want to do THAT, but any additions in my opinion, to make things an easier transition for someone, well I'm all about it!

Wait. WHERE IS THE BIG NEWS?!

Okay, okay, yeah yeah. I saved the best news for last, which is actually the first news he listed. HA! (I am definitely a save the best for last kind of gal, which is probably why I believe the best years of my life are today and moving forward! :)

You see, the cooldown for rental cards now has been changed from 7 days to 24 hours! THIS IS HUGE NEWS GUYS! YIPPPEEE!! (Twirls around) I have to be honest and say, this is a game change in my humble opinion. You see, rentals with a long cooldown can't be used for a week before, and this would really hamper what people did with their cards, if they would play with them to get to the league they needed or just rent them out because they were where they wanted to be or maybe didn't feel they had time that week to rent. The thing was though, if you rented out those cards, you had to wait days and days to play them again once they were used!

Well, now you just have 24 hours to way! I think I can wait a day, can you? 😊 It makes me so happy that they've changed this idea. I believe it's a HUGE positive for Splinterlands, and thank you so much for doing it. I completely understand why they did it in the past, but it's time now to move forward as the game has just taken off at such amazing rates! This change will actually producing MORE playing I believe, because now you can play the first part of the season, and rent out your cards the last part of the season. If you're super organized about your timing, you can really make this happen so that you can win BIG rewards for yourself but also MAKE SOME DEC as well in renting the cards!
