What's the deal with the skyrocketing land plot prices? This is my opinion.

I'm one of those people who regrets it. Why didn't I buy a land plot when I started playing Splinterlands 5 months ago? I missed the opportunity because I didn't know. At that time, I was a new player. Knowledge and expertise are enormously important assets that rookie players do not possess. Therefore, I will try to analyze what I know during my five months of playing. Maybe we can discuss if what I know is off the mark.

A lack of information causes prices to soar.

Presale has been open for three days. And see, the price of the voucher exceeds the price of the card pack itself. For me, who saw the phenomenon. The increase in voucher prices was due to a lack of information for new players. With purchase data of 239,940 spellbooks in the last month.

All metrics from https://peakmonsters.com/dashboard

That's just the number of new players in a month. You can imagine the minds of these new players during the presale are wondering where they can buy a card pack for $4 to strengthen their deck. New players desire to get cards to add to their power collection. The desire to obtain collectible cards defeats the patience of players who seek information. Then, how many of these new players use Discord, watch AMAs, and learn about pack Chaos Legion in general? Not to mention those who create accounts on platforms other than Hive. Many are far from being touched by the information.

Demand arises from a need. When the presale begins, new players hope to purchase packs. However, that ambition was thwarted because having a voucher was a requirement for purchasing a card pack. Because they don't do SPS stacking, they're seeking a place to buy vouchers. Even yet, this is due to the fact that they were not informed that coupons could be earned by saving SPS.

So, why do people want to pay such a high price for vouchers? because they believe that by purchasing a voucher, they would be able to purchase a pack and instantly open it to obtain a card. And this is something they don't always have access to. That the pack can be opened after the presale is over. Packs acquired during the presale will remain in the account until the end of the event.

From my analysis, lack of information and FOMO caused voucher prices to soar. After the second day, the price of the voucher slowly dropped. and later you will see the fair price in the second week until the end of the presale. (I'm waiting to see if my analysis is wrong about the voucher price)

Price Chart from Tribaldex.com

If you are patient, of course, with the highest voucher value for 50 hives, you can invest in DEC for SPS airdrops, or buy SPS and stake to get vouchers. And enjoy the results in the last week before the presale ends. Note that the SPS airdrop has been running for 87 days out of 365 days. Saving your SPS, to me, is more valuable than keeping the pack for 25 days in your account.

It looks like Dev is asking you to be more patient. For beginners, saving SPS to get vouchers is more profitable than buying crazy. But it's different for whales, who can buy out of the ordinary.

Then what about LAND?

I have observed the development of land prices these days. The comparison of the presale price of Land Plot, which was only $10 and $20 afterward (at that time the DEC price was still low), with the current price, which reached the 1000 Hive range. What caused such an increase?

I also became worried that the land price had entered the bubble stage. That the price rise may be due to the fear of missing out on the Land event, which will take place after the Chaos Legion event. This is some of my analysis. Maybe this is wrong, but at least it can be a source of thought for those of you who want to invest. So it's not like the price of the voucher.

The developer says that 150,000 land plots will be created and will not increase. Is it true? This is my analysis.

Based on data from splintercards.com. The currently contested land is Praetoria. On the website, it says Praetoria is the first continent of splinterlands. For me, it's like Alpha in the card series. If there is a first, then there must be a second. unless the devs change it and make it the only one. Of course, the high price of this land plot will be up for grabs that are comparable to the current price. But will the developers make this Praetoria the only continent in the splinterlands?

Snapshoot from splintercards.com

I believe it has something to do with the increase in new gamers, who have surpassed 200,000 accounts in less than a month. Of all, if only 150,000 lands are created, there will be no way for new players to enjoy the enjoyment of playing afterward. Splinterland will continue to expand, and 150,000 lands will remain unfit for the growing system for the foreseeable future. Other players will miss out on the unique experience that the land's owner has. Not to mention the fact that some players have several lands. With a $10 presale fee at the start of last year, Many people have undoubtedly purchased hundreds of acres of land and are now reaping the benefits of the price hike.

That was my thought. In the beginning, just 150,000 lands were distributed on a single continent named Praetoria. However, another continent will emerge afterward. Such as alpha, beta, orb, dice cards, and more series that will be issued as the splinterlands develops.

Because the splinterlands will not necessarily be as active and exciting as they are now if it just survives in the alpha series.

After the land event begins, the land price will be the same as the voucher price phenomenon.

Land prices are currently soaring due to a lack of information. Yes, since it is based on the assumption that all land is equal in value. It is, in fact, based on both land information and the current monster card. Land rarity is classified into four categories: Common, Rare, epic, and legendary.

Is it acceptable to pay $700 when it first opens and then only get common land? Of course, you won't be disappointed if it's legendary.

As a result, I expect landowners will sell their land on the open market once the event begins. People that possess many pieces of land are most likely going to sell the more common land. That is why hundreds of landowners are still holding off on selling their land because they are waiting for the land to be opened so they can see what sort of land is within, whether it is a legendary one or not. Then sell the common ones later on in the market.

This land, like the current card on the market, is NFT.

As a result, the first week after the land is launched, there will be a land sale and purchase transaction, similar to buying and selling cards. I'm not sure if a land leasing function will be added later. Only the developers know of this. I'm not sure if the developers modified the concept or not.

Is it possible that event land will be available in the fourth quarter of 2021?

Source From Roadmap in Splintercards.com

I'm still waiting to see if the developers can keep up with the roadmap. The land extension will be delivered in 2022, according to the plan on splintercards.com, although no quarter has been specified. In the first, second, or third quarter, perhaps. While the chaos legion presale for the fourth quarter of the current year is underway. Not to mention the Praetoria map's delayed-release. According to the plan, this should happen in the third quarter. As a result, I continue to believe that those who have acquired land at this time must wait until 2022 to open the land they have purchased. Unless the developers can catch up to the Praetoria map.

What will the published land map look like?

I'm attempting to explain the land's form.

Based on data from splintercard.com This is the release that I am anticipating.

Land Map release 2.png

What is the location of your property? What kind of land do you have? What is the rarity of your land? All questions will be answered later when the open land event takes place. Even then, only those who already own a land piece are eligible answer that.

From the picture, it could be someone who has 100 plot of lands. because, as far as I recall, there was once a sale for one tract in atomic wax market. That is, the remaining 50,000 unreleased land could contain tracts. The land supply listed in the tribaldex is only 100,000 lands (out of 150,000 lands).

Source From Tribaldex.com

So there is still a chance for those of you who have a lot of funds to buy a tract containing 100 plot of lands. Or maybe I'm wrong?

So, what happens to the land price if the information regarding the land is clear?

Source From Splinterlands Land Expansion Details Post by @Splinterlands

Perhaps my interpretation differs from what occurred subsequently. The players, on the other hand, can make crucial financial decisions based on the information I obtained. Of course, individuals who acquired land at the beginning will see their investment grow as a result of the increase in land values. New players, on the other hand, must be educated. So that splinterlands would not become a disliked brand due to several investment blunders. Cryptocurrency is fraught with danger. Some people have the ability to lose or gain assets in an instant.

This is not a financial recommendation. You can take anything you think is acceptable. or disprove it. However, we all want all new gamers to Splinterlands to have a good time and achieve the desired ROI. If we can make Splinterlands enjoyable to play, more players will continue to arrive. I believe the developer will continue to make new gamers feel welcome. One of these is the latter form of the fight's wild and modern style. Perhaps we'll discuss it later.

Finally, I still predict that there will be more continents released by the developer. Who knows? because the world of splinterlands will not develop if there is only one continent.

I guess alot of people never do their own research and just go with the crowd.

The new players need to first do their own personal research before they FOMO into anything in the game.

I agree with you that there has to be enough continent for the game to be even more fun and exciting.

It's like creating multiple meta-verse when things start rolling out.

Plunging into the crypto world does require research in order to be able to set a strategy. Many young people have begun to be interested in crypto, one of which is through games. But lack of experience and only joining the crowd can make them lose their real assets.
Regarding the number of continents, the developer will analyze how much is the most suitable. Hopefully, it can fulfill all the desires of the players who are increasing day by day.

I started this game just two months ago and during the time I was thinking about getting a piece of land of the secondary market. But after the latest price bumps that idea went off the table. I'll most likely wait how it plays out after the release and then decide if I should go for it. As at the moment I think that the prices are inflated way too much.

For now, the price is too costly. With that kind of money, I'd rather invest in SPS or expand SPS airdrops by accumulating airdrop points. SPS will become important when the airdrop is completed in the future. There is still time till the end of the year.

I'm also investing hard on SPS; it'll be the central piece of Splinterlands Governance and, thus, the asset with highest chance of increasing its price!

There is a lot to learn in splinterland. I need to double the effort of learning them.

I don't know about more land in the future. Devs have been saying that there's not enough land for everyone, and it is meant to be a very scarce resource.

I'd love to have another shot at buying land, we'll see.

Clever from them. They say this to make the players pay a lot of money. And many people pay. Good business.

I agree with @xplosive. for now, Devs say it is so that those who buy the presale time can enjoy the return on their investment. but based on business calculations, if devs only creates 150000 land. With the current price increase, assume that only 100,000 people will benefit financially from selling the land and maybe 50000 belonging to the developer. with players growing now to millions of accounts, it will be more profitable for developers to create another 15000 lands and sell them. make more land and sell again. Moreover, every land creation will make SPS more and more used. dev says to build buildings need SPS.

Is it acceptable to pay $700 when it first opens and then only get common land?

More realistic question. Is it affordable? Can I afford it?
This is more than my total income, which is approximately $470 USD per month. The local minimum wage is approximately $550 USD per month.

Greetings from Hungary.

Insider trading is illegal, if you think the game was rigged against new players, you should make a complaint to the securities commission authority nearest you.

Congrats on the Legendary card pull from the daily quest! That's awesome! I haven't purchased any pre-sale Chaos Legion packs for the same reason I haven't purchase any land... the devs haven't released enough details of what I'd be buying. But I suppose that's also why I'll never be a crypto millionaire, I'm not willing to throw money into the unknown and hope I hit a jackpot. !PIZZA

I'm guessing with many thousand vouchers sold over the last couple of days, there is liquidity for the next big thing. Many players (even veterans) wished, they had bought more land and with the extra cash from vouchers, they flood the land market :o).
