Satoshi Nakamoto Disappearance: He Left To Prove What He Created Is Truly Decentralized

The 26th of April 2022 marked the 11th year since we last heard from Satoshi Nakamoto ( The Father of Bitcoin). To this day, His identity has been one of the biggest unsolved mysteries ever.

The name Satoshi Nakamoto trended on my local twitter for complete 48hrs. On opening the tweets, they all referred to the last mail he sent to Gavin( one of the Bitcoin devs at that time) 11 years ago. At the same time, a lot of Twitter users were asking where has he been all these years?

There have been lots of rumors circulating on the internet that He's either dead or he's out there battling with illness. That type of assumption baffles me simply because in one of his last messages, he clearly stated that he has moved on to other projects. See the quoted message below;

“I’ve moved on to other things,” Satoshi wrote back. “It’s in good hands with Gavin and everyone.”

Satoshi Nakamoto

Wait, why have I been referring to the Bitcoin founder as a male human? The truth is, the Bitcoin god could also be a female or even a group of people. But we honestly don't know this as the account being used for the development update at that time didn't specify.

Although I have always thought S. Nakamoto to be Male because the image below comes to my head anytime I think of the name Satoshi Nakamoto;

Apart from the assumption mentioned earlier in this post, there’ve been other theories surrounding why they think he left. However, the one that I feel is valid the most is this

It was all planned & It played out well

For some time now, I had also been wondering why he left but knew He's definitely not in disbelief of what he created but rather he was so sure the community members will handle the rest development till it gets adopted worldwide.

I believe he had planned to someday disappear even before bitcoin was created. So, it all played out.

But Why?

S. Nakamoto invented Bitcoin right? Now, imagine if he’s still making posts with his account or contributing to the development without handling out the who development . If these were all true, things would seem centralized. Also, the market would kind of have moved depending on what he says online.

But I think he was wise to have left as early as possible. He allowed the system to run without him. He groomed & fed the community with updates before he left. This is a true definition of a decentralised system. He allowed the system to be owned by everyone and not him.

Although It’s possible he has contributed to the Bitcoin networks after he left but with an unknown account. This is of course the beauty of a decentralized system.

Your thought?

What do you think about S. Nakamoto?

  • Is he alive?
  • Is he dead?
  • Which other project do you think he’s running after he clearly stated that he’s moving to something else?
  • Is S. Nakamoto a He, She, or they?
