[LOH120] Valentine's Date with My Best Friend Jennifer

Ahhh, friend? I have it, but I don't have it, I think? Well, in terms of a friendship where communication is still there or we meet up every year to have a little bonding, I don't have that. One of my two friends is in the U.S., while I am avoiding the other. We are living in the same province but have no time to meet. She already has a family, after all.

As for the reason why I am avoiding her, It is because I have become an introvert who just loves to stay at home and enjoy all of my time alone. And meeting with an old friend is a no-no for me. Even when my other college classmates, whom I consider friends because of our time together, invited me for a short bonding time, I declined.

I want to meet them and have a little bond, but at the same time, I don't want it. My introverted side is saying no to it, lol. But God knows I really want to, especially those friends that I never met again after we finished high school and college. But if there's one friend that I want to meet today, it's my high school best friend.

She is the friend who gave me my first letter and the one who gave me a fun and exciting high school life. We are like twins in the way we think. And we have the same likes and wants; even in crushes, we have the same. But we don't fight just because of that; we just love to admire them and those crushes; we consider them our motivators.

I think we only met once at the park here in our town when I borrowed a dress from her for our acquaintance party, first year college. We just talk a little, and actually, I'm a bit awkward because I don't know how to talk to her anymore. Then that's the last meet-up, and there's no second time. although we chatted sometimes. But that's it.

I want to meet her again, spend a day with her, and reminisce about all the good times that we had together. Even after all the bad times we experience, we can talk about them again and laugh at them because of how we cried at that time, thinking that every problem has no solution. But the first thing I want to do is hug her. I'm really not a sweet person, but I think I can do that considering how long it's been since our last meetup.

And after that long hug, I will treat her to a burger house and have some milk tea while we are talking. I will let her tell a story about her family and her kids. She has two kids now; I saw it on her Facebook page last week. Because we can only meet her in Bansud, in our barangay, I will ask her to come with me to the Plaza de Bansud and enjoy the rest of the day and continue chitchatting while having a chip in there. That will be perfect, for sure.

A simple date with best friend, but a meaningful one full of happiness for finally seeing her again. As for the gift, she loves lipstick, so I will include that in my gift. I mean, she loves cosmetics, so I will give her a set of those. She also loves to use liquid eyeliner, just as I do; we used to do that during high school. Although, as for me, that's the only thing I like, nevermind lipstick, lol. and then an eyebrow. Perfect!
