Money and Wellbeing - Just One Thing
Often in life people seem to spend their time seeking wealth, this is often in terms of Money, people strive, of course, to have enough financial security that they do not have to scrimp and scratch to survive. Some people want to have so much money they use it as a bragging right, after all one can only spend so much at any given time.
In fact, there are often cases where people have come into so much money that it has made them unhappy and unsure, distrusting and quite unwell.
How much Money does one need. People like Gates, Musk, Branson etc have so much Money that they must surely be faced with the dilemma as to what purpose it could serve.
I was chatting to my partner this morning about what we would do if we had a large amount of Money, we often have these chats, and our conversation always goes towards what philanthropic ventures we would support. What provision of self empowerment we would create, eg: support people in less wealthy countries to have start up businesses, such as you can find on Kiva. Imagine the things you could help with if you had vast amounts of Money.
Now I am not talking about Handouts, I am talking about creating scenarios where people can become self supportive, where a high level of self empowerment is paramount, not only for creating financial wellbeing for others, but also in creating self generated security, health and mental wellbeing
Wealth to me is gauged not by financial state but by lifestyle, companions, and friends.
Who do you surround yourself with and how you live will determine your level of wellbeing. Surround yourself with inspired self activated and self generated people and you will also be of a similar mindset. Surround yourself with people that mean and act well for the benefit of others and you too will become that.
If you surround yourself with people that only have their own self interest as their main driving force, you too will become as such.
Yes we need to have a level of security in our financial situations, as we live in a world that requires us to participate in the financial economy, however the social economy is far greater and something that we should not ignore.
What happens when the electricity gets shut down ??? Fuel costs become out of the reach of many, this bumping up the cost of living from Food Chain to the work chain. Many of us rely upon energy production as a way of sustaining our own incomes.
This is when the social interactions that you have lived by come into play. Your community, who are they, and where do they place importance, where is their wellbeing. Is it in a mode of sharing or is it all so self important and isolative in nature that when you require some level of dependency on community, will it be there.
Wealth comes from the interactions we have with others, Wealth comes from the Lifestyle that we live, Wealth comes from knowing that community is number one to your wellbeing and wealth comes from knowing that because of your lifestyle, when and if needed, your neighbour is there for you just as you are for your neighbour.
Money can buy you a lot of things, but Money cannot buy Wellbeing.
Wealth is not in the monetary system but it is in your heart
