I found this site shared by @bala41288 very helpful. By using the tools provided by the app, you can track the progress of your account both on a monthly and an annual basis. The four important data you can track include your rewards both as an author and as a curator and at the same time, your total posts and comments on the Hive blockchain.

Ending 2022, I am glad to stumble upon this useful tool. I will utilize the data found on that site to give me an overview of what happened to my account for the last 16 months. This will serve as my basis for updating my goals for 2023.

To provide a background for what happened in 2022, I want to start with the September 2021 data:

2021

MonthAuthor Rewards in HPCuration Rewards in HPTotal PostsTotal Comments
September0.0970.00215
October9.1130.005419
November4.430.006330
December10.5410.004484

The data provided is very interesting. It doesn’t lie. It tells you the outcome of your actual activity on the blockchain.

The data above shows that though I started on the Hive blockchain in the month of August 2021, my blockchain activity is almost nonexistent. This tells me that I was clueless then about the power and potential of the technology that was before me.

After two months on the Hive blockchain, my curation rewards were still zero. That would mean that even though I was upvoting posts during those two months, I still didn’t know the correlation between the value of my curation rewards and the need to power up HIVE.

Only in the month of October that I started receiving author rewards. I think that is because at that time I began to write an entry for Splinterlands’ two weekly challenges, the Social Media Challenge and the Share Your Battle Story Challenge.

As for curation rewards, they are still very insignificant, from 0.004 to 0.006 HP. At least as to content creation, I was averaging two articles during those four months. Compared to my current activity, such an average was insane.

I wonder what caused my comments to increase in the last month of 2021.

Beginning January 2022, my author rewards began to pick up. I think the reason why the December author rewards are exceptionally high is because of the current depressed market price of HIVE. During this time, growing your stakes is easier than the time that the price of the token is high. So instead of complaining, better to take advantage of this opportunity. I consider it the best time to grow my stakes.

Analyzing my curation rewards, I got curious about what activity did I do for my rewards to more than double in the months of October and November. And then how come, it suddenly crashed in December?

That’s how useful this tool is. Imagine, without this app, there is no way you can evaluate your performance whether you are progressing or declining. I could not recall what causes those two changes in my curation rewards. The good thing is that now that I am aware of it, I could be more intentional in my engagement.

From an average of two posts per month when I was just starting, beginning in January 2022, the number of my posts increased greatly. The month of June was the lowest when I only posted 13 articles. I think there is a reason for that. I just could not recall what is it exactly.

Interesting months are November and December. I think the role of somee.social explains a lot for such an increase. It was during that time that the update on that social network has been launched. As for long content, I still do the 20 average per month. Most of my posts during those two months are micro posts similar to what I post on Threads and d.buzz.

Lastly, as to my total comments, the most interesting month is the month of May. Again, I could not recall what causes such an increase in my commenting activity. And then by June, it returned back to a more realistic number. December again was the lowest since the May peak.

In the light of this information, I think I can set a social goal of 30 comments per day. That would be 900 in a month. As for content creation, I can do one long post and one micro post per day. If I can do this, I can have a total of 60 posts per month. As for author and curation rewards, I don’t have much control of them. The only thing I can do something about is my own activity in terms of publishing an article and curating others’ posts.

Again, I just want to say thank you to @bala41288 for creating and sharing a very useful tool. Such a tool can provide anyone with the necessary data to have an overview perspective of your own performance on the Hive blockchain.

Grace and peace!

You might want to claim Account Creation Tokens using your Resource Credits, since your RC is sitting at 100% and you still have enough to claim ACTs. 🤓😏
