Early Morning Walk Around Town

I started walking with purpose over lockdown - taking Boris’ hour of essential exercise in my stride. I rehomed a dog about a year ago and this hobby has become a daily ritual. I take her out at around 7 before work every morning. I mix it up between local beaches, parks and around the roads. This daily practice has really forced me to appreciate my local area and the beauty it has to offer. A place I had once found myself wanting to be far away from.

At this time there's not too many people about, a few fellow dog walkers or the odd person up defrosting their car before work. The stillness of this time really appeals to me and there’s something very settling in the quiet.

It was cloudy and frosty this morning which gave a pretty gothic look to the walk. There's so many churches within walking distance from my house that it baffles me how they could have all been in use at one time. They certainly don’t seem to be frequented very much anymore, this is probably my favourite - although not religious I am prone to becoming enamoured with a religious building.

As I turned back to walk home I looked out to the east and saw this hint of a pink sunset struggling through the grey - a little bit of hope to lift the day.
