Bad Effect of Flooding in my Area

Flooding simply means the accumulation of water on an area. This is an environmental challenge that is disrupting socio-economic activities in my area and elsewhere. Schools, shops and markets around those affected area suffer from low turnout of people because of this ugly scene. Whenever economic activities is disrupted, money in circulation is badly affected and people suffer for hunger because we depend mostly on our daily earnings for sustain our lives. It's very discouraging and make life harder for people.

Rains is a blessings from God because it provides gallons of water for free to the nature but when not properly managed, it can be disastrous like what we are experiencing. Only a night fall, everywhere looks like this. Pools of water scatter everywhere and damages therein. There's an outbreak of water borne diseases like cholera etc due to this offensive views on our environment. Hardly, there's no victim of such diseases in my area thereby stressing the already poor medical care presence.

The offensive odor from this pools of water is very bad and it's possible because of the debris decaying inside them. The presence also attract pests of several kinds and their activities discomfort humans.

What can be the solution to this menace?

We can't stop rains because of flooding but we can manage it's gallons of water for our usage. Do you know that my area joined other part of the world that still suffer from lack of freshwater. Freshwater is scarce while it still litter our environment. Our municipal government is not doing their best. Those politicians are selfish and does not care for us. They use this ugly status of roads and environs for political campaign and manifestos, when elected, they focus on themselves and families.

Other people are limited but we keep doing our best to cushion the effect of this menace by construct drains and keep it clean routinely for free flow of the waters but our works are not yet sufficient. We will keep trying our best to live life like others.
