Fish Swarm In Action!?!

avatar

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

This Clips where filmed right after I did a waterchange.

Fish swarm is stressed.

  • you can see how they swarm close together.
  • avoiding the open area.

Note that the fishes are stressed becauce of the noice and action that just happend. Waterchanges are mentaly stressfull for them, ethen dough I try to be as gently as possible.

  • A lot of experience

I think everyone who has a aquarium comes up with his own was to organice the waterchange. A lot to concider when doing this. My tapwater has a good ph, and no chlorine so I can use it right away.

I will make a cool short as well so you can see how clear the water is the day after. Also the swimming behavior is much calmer 😃

Thanks for thuning in beautifull people!

See you soon!?!

They look very happy! I do miss my aquarium and fishes, but not the weekly water changes and monthly filter cleaning!

Hahah yeah, I totaly get it. I do the waterchange with a floater from a toilet flush. That way it is quiet quick to set up and I can let it do its job.
It is so cool how you manage the drone community! Love the shots and I try my best to upvote all the posts you share.
Thanks for tuning in and by the way, when winter electric skateboard drone video? Haha

I used a little hose gadget that connected to the kitchen faucet. One flip of the lever and it would drain, then flip it the other way and it would fill. It was very handy, but like you we were on well water, not city water so no chlorine and the fish were happy.

Thanks for following our drone community! Looking forward to more of your posts there!

I was thinking about the skateboard yesterday. I spotted it in the garage when moving a few other things about. The snow is definitely still too deep here, I haven't been out to the trails yet with it, but definitely plan to this spring/summer. I did map out a very long trail that is maintained for bikes, walking in summer and snowmobiles in winter. We've got another 5-6 inches coming Tuesday, but should start the melt-off and into "mud season" by next month.

Haha yeah, the water quality from the tap is a blessing, can't imagine how long it would take if I had to treat it in advance, and the space needed for that.

I should take the drone out more often haha

We have no snow for now but the mud season is a thing here too haha
Realy cool to hear about the skate action youre planing, sounds like so much fun!
In sommer I will make more surfskate videos for shure, still a bit cold for now haha

Years ago I changed my fish tank water and the fish started jumping out of the tank, I kept putting them back in it. I did not know the city was cleaning the water system and had too much chlorine, I lost all of my fish and was heartbroken.

Oh no! That sounds like such a bad luck with the timing!
Do you still have a aquarium now?

I had a incident with a broken air pump combined with a clocked filter over night, lost a lot of fishes there.
Ethen made a video about it

I think the importent thing from situations where we los lifes it is important to take a lesson from it.

Definition of "teeming with life" :) Beautiful setup, love all the plants, it looks like an underwater jungle :) Yeah, a water change can be stressful for the fish, that´s why I always changed just 1/3 of the water at the most and I did it very carefully and slowly not to disturb them...

Yeah, that means a lot to me from you :) Having all the plants in there was always the dream.
And as you asked about n the last video and I missed to reply, the big shrimps are called Atya gabonensis, but I just call the big blues haha
Because of the amount of fish in there I have to change more the a third of the water. But thet does not stress them, rather then I see them enjoying the fresh water quiet fast after they calm down. I think it is realy the noise it generates, maybe I can improve on that in the future.

See you soon, and keep up the amazing beauty of nature effort as always, much respect for all youre work!

Thanks for the info Sandy, I just googled that species out and it looks so interesting! I mean look at this fascinating creature!

I´m pretty sure these shrimps were not available here when I had my fish tank. They are from West Africa, wow, I never heard of them, so cool! :)

Well, my tank was just a bit over 100 litres so I would just fill a bunch of big plastic bottles with fresh water, let them stay for a day or two to get rid of the chlorine, suck out 1/3 of the old water with a hose and then just pour the fresh water from the bottles in there, slowly and carefully :) But that was years ago, you know, old school fishkeeping :D

I would do it the same if I had a chlorine situation.
The tank is 180 liters and I keep Atyopsis moluccensis in there as well. I make shure to film a close up of those as well in the next video. The big blue ones love to stay on ground, while the moluccensis are all about climbing and thes are much more active.

Amazing image you found there.
I love to watch them, it is so calm as they just stay there and filter haha.
I have about 12 of them.

I googled this one as well, another amazing species. Honestly, I was always more into the crustaceans than fish :) I mean I had fish in the tank as well, different species, but the crustaceans were more fun to watch, observe and study :) I had various species of crabs, shrimps and crayfish. And when we live by the sea, I always love to explore the beaches and the shallow coastal waters, searching for crustaceans :) They are just fascinating... Cannot wait to see that special shrimps video from you hehe :) Cheers mate!

Will "catch" some clips of them :)
Thanks for tuning in and happy to read youre exidment for crustaceans as well :)
See you soon and all the best 🍀

Awesome :) Always cool to have a nice chat with another crustacean lover :) They are just adorable, aren´t they? ;) Too bad I don´t have pictures of the other species that I kept when I was younger...

Wow that looks so good with the big stones! I imagine they would make a redesign of the tank all the time if there wouldn't have been stones this big in there haha they look much bigger then the ones I keep. What did you feed them?

Well spotted my fried :) Big crayfish require big stones. It´s this species:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherax_quadricarinatus

The males can reach up to 30 cm and 600 g, they are monsters! Fascinating to watch but impossible to keep with plants. They destroy even the most hardy plants :( And sometimes, they can move even the big stones. Honestly, this species is really beautiful and fun to watch but not very practical to keep in tanks :( Next time, I will probably pick some other species... As for their diet, babies prefer meaty diet (little fish, insects, worms) and as they grow older, they start to prefer vegetarian diet (peas, cucumbers, spinach etc.)

I suppose that that's a saltwater aquarium? Not sure if you have fastened up a bit the video, or they were really that disturbed? I had a freshwater aquarium, but usually, I had 3-4 fish types and that's it... Your aquarium looks like a "mini sea"... 😃
It was so relaxing watching the video that I almost fell asleep... :)

Thanks for sharing!

This clip should be made into a screen saver, fully deserved! Did you give names to any of your creatures? Any special characters in there?
