Virgil Griffith, a crypto expert from USA has now been jailed for 5 years after adding the North Korean regime ways to evade the sanctions put in place using the crypto services and the blockchain technology.

The prosecutor Daian Williams said "US Cryptocurrency Expert Jailed 5 Years for Helping North Korea." He also said that Griffith admitted in court that he had taken actions to evade sanctions that are put in place by USA to prevent North Korea building a Nuclear Bomb.

In 2019, Grifitth went to North Korea and delivered a presentation at Pyongyang, the North Korean capital on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology where he thoroughly provided information regarding how can North Korea use the technology to evade the sanctions including through 'smart contracts' too.

At his arrival at the Los Angeles airport from his presentation, he was taken into custody by US authorities.

I don't actually think this incident might have any negative impact on the crypto market as criminal activities are visible on every single aspect which are not only centered to crypto for sure, though people can use it as a point to talk against it for sure.
