RE: Splinterlans Is Pushing The Number Of Custom Json Transactions On Hive To ATH Levels

I hear that there are a lot of bots that are on Splinterlands - they could be pushing up the transaction rates too.

The bots are a mixed blessing. They do provide liquidity (and each account must have "purchased" a spell book and put money into the game). They also provide enough "players" so when you are looking for a match to play you can normally get one quickly. However it does take away a lot of the games-man-ship and fun from pitting your wits against anothers.

Yes, I play. I don't run a bot.

The techy part of me wonders how a bot would work. I get that running the transaction itself on the blockchain isn't too bad (rather than via a GUI), but how would it select "battle winning" cards?

No clue how the bots work either, all too complicated for me. I just like to play and sometimes prefer playing against bots as it's easier to win! lol

I noticed that you (accidentally) published the same comment again. 🕵️‍♂️ The first one was at https://peakd.com/@michealb/qwyd2i. 👈 Please tell me if you want to delete your previous duplicated comment so that I could remove my comment there. 😅

How would it select "battle-winning" cards?

Short answer: use AI. 😅

Long answer: The bot should automatically learn from its own battles (and those of others) which lineups for every battle with a specific Ruleset, Mana Cap, and Allowed Splinters (and optionally, opponent preferences). 🤓 Additionally, I think that the bot should allow the player to choose which cards are best for each ruleset, mana cap, and splinters allowed. 😏

Kind of my thoughts too. Collection power kind of made it tough for bots to earn rewards. So bots aren't even bad as they used to be.
