Society definitely doesn't prepare us for the emotional onslaught life provides to us. I wonder what the world would be like if it did. Would we be Vulcans, with totalitarian control of our mental state? Would we be something more than that with an ability to utilize our emotions to near-superhuman feats? I hope so.
