Hello music lovers! 🎵 🎧 🎤🎵

We are deep into October and with it the need for music to color our days with the soft tones of autumn and to soften the gradual transition from one state to another, from one color to another, from summer's hot-bloodedness to autumn's gracefulness and preparation for winter's lethargy ...

Anyway, there's a lot of new music and it's driving me straight into deep autumn whether I like it or not.
The #newtunes are ringing in my ears, if any will settle down we'll just have to hear it on repeat. I guess that's the case for you too, but if you don't like something, feel free to skip it.

Sting - Rushing Water

One new one from Sting, which has been climbing the charts for two or three weeks, seems to be quite appropriate for an autumn introduction. It is also a preview of the new album 'The Bridge'. Sting as Sting. A classic.

Yola – Diamond Studded Shoes

Yola is a British musician, singer, and songwriter. New to me. She receives a Grammy nomination for the Best new artist last year. This song is a subtle and soft country blues and she performs it with ease.

Neal Francis - Prometheus

Who is Neal Francis? The singer/songwriter/pianist from Chicago. This piece is from his new (second) album 'In Plain Sight'. It was written and recorded during his year-long stay at St Peter's UCC in Chicago. Neal is a virtuoso on the piano and we will certainly hear more from him.

Jack White – Taking Me Back

Jack White is back. Literally. This track is his new single, it's climbing the charts fast, it's actually the trailer for the upcoming video game Call Of Duty: Vanguard. Quite a brutal game, if you want my opinion.

But Jack wouldn't be Jack if he hadn't done something else. So I'm going to indulge in something else I don't usually do in #newtunes.
At the same time, Jack released a second version of Taking Me Back (Gently) which is more laid back and country style I would say. It's up to you to choose what you prefer :)

Beirut - Fisher Island Sound

Beirut will release in January 2022 double album Artifact with remastered unreleased tracks, early works, EPs, and B-sides. This song is the start of an online presence campaign, probably.

Ujma - Smoke

After a stormy decade of music-making, Ujma arises from the Ljubljana underground with its debut album - a solo project by Ljubljana singer-songwriter Vasja Onić, best known as the drummer of Persons From Porlock.

Tirzah - Hips

Tirzah is from London and this is her second album. New for me.

She belongs to the milieu of London's pop intimism, defined by minimalist, rudimentary arrangements, saturated, dusty, completely unrefined sonic patina, post-punk expansion of horizons, evasion of genre markers and poetic introversion.

Knocked Loose - Forced to Stay

This metalcore band from Kentucky, USA is something hardest I heard these days. They released the EP 'A Tear in the Fabric of Life' that tells the story of death and grief.
The guitar sounds like chainsaws and keyboards whipping at you from the background along with the screeching vocals don't let you forget this sound object. It would be interesting to hear them live.
