Catheter, kidney stone and the end of a year.

Let me start this post by sending my sympathies to the babies around the world crying because of their wet diapers, it is indeed a miserable state to be in, one I find myself in after going to the hospital thinking I was suffering because of gases or so I thought since the pain was in the same spot I was treated for that a year ago.

I reach the hospital around 13:30 thinking I will be given some medicine and sent home soon.

By around 18:15 I had been punctured a dozen times to either have my blood drawn or injected medicine, something that continued after I had my first ambulance ride which took me to a bigger hospital.

By the time all the exams were over it was 4:00 and I was getting a couple of the most painful sedative injections in my poor spine.

I wake up sometime later, but can't feel my legs (since I'm still sedated) and am given the news that they managed to take off the stone and that I can get my new catheter taken off in about 10 days.

Leaving the hospital with a diaper since I didn't want to leak inside the Uber was unpleasant, trying to sleep while my bed got colder and wetter while I leaked piss and blood over it?

Not as awful as seeing a nylon string coming out of your wee get pulled along with the soggy, bloody diaper you had been wearing.

Which led me to the hospital again, shivering, and scared, with a headache and the knowledge that the doctor who treated me went on vacation.

Well, in the end, I came back home with the recommendation to not pull the string, and go back to the doctor's office in 10 days.

Ugh catheters are no joke! I can't imagine having one hanging out of your penis lol I don't look forward to those days as an old man! Sucks that you had issues but it sounds like you may be on the right path. One thing to do, if you can, is to drink plenty of water with lemon in it! The lemon breaks down the calcification that forms the kidney stones and should hopefully reduce it in the future or eliminate it!
