I sewed a lovely outfit as a Christmas gift 🎁 for my cousin @obrisgold, this season is not just about wishing someone a merry Christmas 🎄orally, but it’s all about showing love, going out of your way to put a smile😊 on someone’s face.
Merry Christmas 🎄 🎄 and happy new year in advance to you all my beautiful needle workers, how are you all doing, hope your all doing amazingly well, am just happy to be with you all and the fact that we all made it this far, gives me immense joy and joining you all in the platform is one of the best thing that has happen to me this year and as the year runs out am just happy we all are together, I love you all so very much and I pray you all remain safe, so since this season is about celebrating the birth of Christ and also it’s a season of sharing love across. Most people wish others merry Christmas 🎄 orally and get wished back too orally, but I thinking this season is not only about wishing someone orally, is going out of your way to put a little smile on someone’s face and make that person happy. So I thought of making someone happy this season, I made an outfit with the Gobi style of cap for my cousin @obrisgold, yea! I know many of you didn’t know my cousin is here too except for those of us that saw and read my first opening post to this platform cause in there I told you all about myself and I included that my cousin which was him was the one that introduced me to this platform so I made this outfit to also thank him too for introducing me to this new life, where I can post, educate others and above all this platform has really been helping me financially too am so happy to be here and also I do learn from others and it’s been so amazing working with you all. So that was another reason why I made this outfit for him and normally I only do collect him money to buy the fabric I’ll be using to sew and the equipments like the gums I’ll be using to sew the cloth for him and I won’t collect him money for my stress or any other thing but this time I don’t collect him anything, I went to the market use my own money to buy the fabric I’ll be using and i used my own money to buy all the necessary equipment I’ll be also using to sew the outfit, I just wanted to gift him a Christmas gift because his my friend, brother, cousin and more so I thought of surprising him though this season and also I Succeeded in putting a smile on his face and he was very happy and thankful to me for making such a lovely outfit for him
That’s what this season is all about, making someone happy in the little way you can, so I ask, who have you made to smiles this season?.
I did everything and my cousin didn’t even know though he sew me buying thing for the cloth, he thought it was my one of my client, little did he know that it was actually his own, so when I was done I surprised him and he was over the moon, he was really very happy that I made it for him 😂 and I was happy too that I was able to lighten up his mode that time .☺️ so he wore the outfit to church yesterday, now I want to share with you all how I got his outfit made stay connected to your preferred brand @smilestitches, let’s do this together.
Items used:
- A sky blue fabric
- A readymade zip
- Tissue gum
- 3 deferent matching fabric for the combination.
My sewing processes:
Firstly:
I lay the fabric and cut out the front
then after that I used the already cut out front to cut out the remaining part of the cloth like the back view and the both sleeves. Actually this outfit I made as you have seen it looks simple actually that’s how the sewing is too, no much work just simple. Now this style am making was chosen by my cousin, actually he did know it was him I was making it for so I asked him to give me a style he would prefer and also love to wear it it was his own so he gave me this style thinking and making it for one of my clients 😂 until I was done and then I surprised him. He was madly happy 😂.
Secondly:
I ironed out a straight line at the front so it will guild me in designing the front. After that I then cut the first combat fabric, and join it at the done part of the front and I did same with the second and third fabric.
Then after the joining I moved to the neck and pipe it and I added my readymade zip at the shoulder and trimmed it and join the both sleeves and joined the body size to my cousin’s body size and the outfit was ready. Now I’ll be making a post another day about the making of the Gobi pattern of cap.
The dress looks very nicely made. Weldone.
Your cousin and yourself look a like
Yes thanks so much I really appreciate you for commenting, yes we really look alike most times people refer to use as twins 😂
