I was actually confused on what to wear to church yesterday, so I thought of making something new to clear my confusion, so I went to the market and I see this beautiful fabric I quickly purchased it and it was kinda cheap so I purchased it and left the market, I had the rest items to use in sewing it. And this was how my shirt was on me when I rocked it to church yesterday 😊😂

Items used:

  1. Shirt fabric
  2. Plain color fabric
  3. Collar gum
  4. Matching threads

My sewing processes:
First step :
I lay the the shirt fabric on the table and I drew my measurement on it, it’s actually my own so I took my body measurement to use in sewing it😊, after drawing out my body measurement on it I then cut out the front, don’t forget when cutting shirt is different from when cutting normal senator top, in shirt they include 2inches for the button and the button hole so I included 2inches for that and after I cut out the front and proceeded to cutting the back view and use the front to achieve the back view and the both sleeves.

Second step:
I took out the front to my iron bend the button and the button hole place inside and I added an aiming gum to stick them together.

Third step:
Now the joining, I then join both the back and front together through the shoulder and after that I took the black fabric and I bend it size of 3inches and length of 5inches for the front pocket and I did same to the other plain fabric cause I wanted a two sided pocket at that front so I did same and I sew them both to the front.
I first place the black on top and sew it after that I then place the plain one on top it and but gave a little spacing and sew it.

Fourth step:
After the sewing, I cut a paper gum size of 3inches and length of 2.5inches, I cut it in pair and I gummed one on the plain and the other on the black and I used that to prepare a pocket cover and I added it to the mouth of the pockets

Now with that the front of my shirt was ready.

Fifth step:
I moved to trimming the shoulder and jointing the both sleeves and the sides too with my measurement so after that I was done with my church outfit 😊 I bend the length and cut my collar gum and made the neck.

Damn - that is super stylish and suave and to think you made it yourself!

You have a serious career in tailoring and clothes design ahead, methinks..! NICE post.

I love this shirt! And the gold colored pocket on the side, it really suits well. How I wish I could make some for my husband and 2 sons. 🥰

Simply spectacular. How wonderful that you can make your own clothes, I loved the combination of fabrics of the shirt that makes a perfect combination with the trousers. Great job.

Your patch pockets are so perfect! After 50 years of sewing, I still am not the best at neat topstitching..

What!!!😳 50nyears? Wow! That's a long time wow, trust me you can, it's just that you don't stay calm to sew maybe your always stressed about something or you don’t focus and stable your mind, don’t know but I believe you can achieve it if you focus on it

I do struggle with focus. I did a lot of sewing in an environment where there were constant interruptions. Not good for learning to slowly focus on perfectly straight stitches. I should try to be more mindful and less hurried.
