On the 20/10/2020 the government of Republic of Nigeria shot at peace protesters at Lekki Toll gate, Today we remember them. On 20th of October 2020 the whole world was in shot as citizens that were peacefully protesting the end sars movement were shot at by some army officals. This incident went viral on all news platforms and the whole world was in shock. People lost their lives in the cross-fire, our brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers were taken from us because we were protesting for our own human rights. Everybody in the nation felt this great sorrow, but personally I was affected because I lost my own cousin in the incident. Today I remember Chizoba Agu, she was a graduated of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka from the department of Biochemistry.

This day brings back alot of bad memories becuase we were all looking at the #endsars movement as something that was on Tv and was far from us. On the very day of the shooting, I didn't know that my cousin was among the protests at Lekki Toll gate. It was a normal evening like anyother, I was with my dad and we were watching the news. He got a call and started to lament, I asked him what had happened but for a while, he didn't response to me." Chizoba is dead", he later spoke up.

Chizoba was in Lagos and she had been following the #endsars trend on social media, so on that day she decided to come and show patronage and protest against police brutality. When the shooting started she was pushed to the floor in all the commotion and a nearby speeding vehicle trampled over her, giving her severe injuries to the head. When the incident happen she was opportunited to be sent the hospital, with the help of my brother who found an agency on Twitter that promised to pay her medially fees.

But we later lost her, after some days of being intensive care. So today I remember Chizoba, she only died because she wanted this country to be a better place for you and me. She had dreams, hopes and ambitions like you and me. But the government of the Republic of Nigeria took her away from performing her civil right. Chizoba you may be gone, but you are not forgot. Continue to rest in peace.

We pray this country stops taking our young leaders of this generation. The youth can not be the future if they die young. I will never forget 20/10/2020 . We remember them today.

Thank you for reading and burn a candle as we remember our brothers and sisters at Lekki Toll gate.

God bless Nigeria. 🇳🇬

Sorry for your loss. I cannot begin to imagine what it felt like for the family. May her soul rest in perfect peace. Thank you for sharing your story. It adds to the already existing body of evidence piled against the government. Hoping someday they will answer for all their wrongdoings
