A prayer is not about story telling, according to the word of God prayer is making your request known to God.

Philippians 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

we should not use vain words or repetitions while praying,
we use just go straight to the point with out being repetitive because it is prohibited by GOD.
If your request is done in a proper way it will be answered by God.we should be thankful to GOD at times, thank GOD for all he has done and all he will still do

Acts 1:24
24And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

we should have faith and believe that our request is granted.
Mark 11:24
24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Mary can't answer our prayers,some people who are asking her to pray for them are not praying right and its not the proper way to pray.
before we make our request,we should offer thanks to GOD just like JESUS did always.

Mathew 15:36
36And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

somany people only pray when they need something from GOD or when they are in trouble or having issues and when they get their request granted, they stop praying but its wrong.
Luke 18:7-8
7And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

we should pray without ceasing, wether things are good or not,we should pray.

I Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing.

2 Timothy 3:1
3I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day.
