IS NIGERIANS TRULY INDEPENDENT? HAPPY NEW MONTH!!!
Happy independence Day and also I am wishing all hivers happy new month, as we all know today is a day we remember how we got our freedom from the colonial empire after so much torture and suffering which they have passed through. Many stories are been told about how our fore fathers have been held captive and used for slave trade, about some years ago when we went on an excursion with my colleague to the badagry slave trade and I saw some pictures of how our fore fathers were been held with chains all over the body just to prevent them from escaping and anyone of them that die in the slave house would be thrown into the ocean..
SHOULD WE BE HAPPY OR SAD
Independence has been celebrated for over 60 years in Nigeria and still I still find it very difficult to believe if this is the same country that has regain their freedom from the white, there have been hardship and suffering everywhere in the country instead of development and betterment. The leaders who are in power now also witness how this white held us captive and how we were able to get our freedom, yet I wonder if this are the leaders that witness how they were being treated by the white killing them and sending them into slavery trade but still, there have been no changes occurring for the betterment of the country because those leaders are now doing more than what the white did to the people making it seem as if we are now back to old times.
Every year we always says this day October 1st we gained our independent and still those who we call our leaders do not make we the citizen feel as if we have gained that freedom. A country that gained independence after our country Nigeria has been developing day by day or should I say they have developed, we see good roads, stable electricity, economy going fine without any difficulty to means of survival but Nigeria after the independent, till now I still see the country as an under developed one because you can't say a country is developed and still have bad roads where a journey is suppose to be for just 30 minutes and someone will be spending over 2 hours, how do you expect such person to know we have gained the independent or we are free from torturing.
Electricity have never been stable in the country, still there is hike in the price of electricity,, people paying for what they didn't get to use well and you call that freedom? It's a big NO from me, for a country to be classified as a developed one some things are to be met but my country is still lacking most of it.
NIGERIA AS AN INDEPENDENT COUNTRY
Independence means you can do things on your own without calling for any help from other sources or people but let's look at our country celebrating 61 years of independence yet, they still don't look independent to themselves, the number of times in which those who called themselves our leaders have been calling for help from other country still amaze me. We should be able to carry out task on our own, look at our hospitals when there is any serious case of operations, they will say it is beyond them and the operation would be carried out outside the country or even paying huge money to bring those practitioners down here to carry out the operation. An independent country don't need that, not all equipment are available to carry out medical task here in the country but they run to other countries to do that. Now, here is a question to ask What is Independence about our Country Nigeria?

Every reasonable person feels what you're feeling. Our Nation is in the hands of evildoers, we hope for a better governments. They say a fool at 40 is a fool forever, what about a fool at 61 years, I can't wrap my head around it. 61 years without concrete success, what a shame to the asshole governments officials we have around. Our hope is for the table to turn around. To your question, we are not Independent, Nigeria is practicing what I call milicracy instead of democracy. The dumb-headed, incompetent, and stupid president was on TV 📺 saying rubbish as usual while the nation is full of atrocities. We pray and keep fighting for a better nation.
I think going by this, only a few countries in the world are independent, I doubt any country is even totally independent.
Our dependence heralds our existence, we need each other, what we are terribly deprived of is good leadership.
And that really sucks..
