Good Sunday Hive, today I want to take you to a very beautiful place, a small village that rises in the Brenta Valley, nestled between the Alpine mountains and circumscribed by the river, called Valstagna (Veneto).

A place that I know well, a few tens of minutes by car from my home, I had already visited many times, also because one must pass in front of it to go to Trentino Alto Adige, starting from the pre-Alpine area of Veneto, following the Valsugana state road , which starting from Bassano del grappa crosses numerous small typical villages, such as Valstagna, Oliero, Carpanè, Solagna and Valbrenta, before reaching the lakes of Caldonazzo and Levico, where the Brenta river originates from the first of the two.

Knowing the beauty of the small village, last spring I decided to take my partner @giovi86 for a walk along the beautiful footpath which, from just beyond Bassano del Grappa, follows the course of the Brenta river for several kilometers up to Valstagna, crossing woods and banks of the river between the splendid Alpine panorama and a full immersion in nature.

We have covered a good part of the path, starting from Oliero, where the famous Grotte di Oliero are located, a vast system of semi-submerged caves that are explored with boat trips and scuba diving, up to the small village of Valstagna, which visit briefly, given its small size, but which certainly leaves a beautiful glance, with its colors and its position nestled between the mountain and the river, where you can stop to cool off with an ice cream or drink something sitting in the terraces on the banks of the Brenta.

A particularity that has made Valstagna famous over the years is rafting, which everyone can practice by booking an excursion at the local rafting school, an activity very popular with people from all over the north-east of the country. I've been wanting to try this experience for years, but I haven't yet found someone who wants to do it together, sooner or later I'll find someone or I'll decide to go alone, joining other people if possible, I haven't found out about this yet. but I think it's not a problem, I don't think you need to form a whole team, since the dinghy carry several people.

But that's not all, the river has made the town famous also thanks to the canoe and kayak training and competition site, where the local school has produced several Olympic champions over the years, such as the gold medalist Pierpaolo Ferrazzi in Barcellona 92. The passion for the river and its rapids is an element that flows in the veins of the people who inhabit these places, where they grew up living with the steep peaks of the mountains and the strength and unpredictability of the river

Small but very nice, a town that, if you are in the area, is worth stopping to visit, even if only to have a coffee along the banks of the Brenta and enjoy the fresh breeze that characterizes this beautiful valley.

Buona Domenica Hive, oggi vi voglio portare in un luogo molto bello, un piccolo paesino che sorge nella Valle del Brenta, incastonato tra le montagne Alpine e circoscritto dal fiume, chiamato Valstagna (Veneto).

Un luogo che conosco bene, a poche decine di minuti di auto da casa mia, lo avevo visitato già molte volte, anche perché ci si passa davanti per forza per andare in Trentino Alto Adige, partendo della zona prealpina del Veneto, seguendo la statale Valsugana, che partendo da Bassano del grappa attraversa numerosi piccoli borghi tipici, come Valstagna, Oliero, Carpanè, Solagna e Valbrenta, prima di raggiungere i laghi di Caldonazzo e Levico, dove dal primo dei due nasce il fiume Brenta .

Conoscendo la bellezza del piccolo paesino, la primavera scorsa decisi di portare la mia compagna @giovi86 a fare una passeggiata nel bellissimo sentiero pedonale che da poco oltre Bassano del Grappa, segue il corso del fiume Brenta per diversi chilometri fino a Valstagna, attraversando boschetti e sponde del fiume tra lo splendido panorama Alpino e un full immersion nella natura.

Abbiamo percorso buona parte del sentiero, partendo da Oliero, dove si trovano le famose Grotte di Oliero, un vasto sistema di grotte semi sommerse che vengono esplorate con escursioni in barca e con immersioni subacquee, fino ad arrivare al piccolo borgo di Valstagna, che si visita brevemente, date le sue esigue dimensioni, ma che lascia sicuramente un bellissimo colpo d'occhio, con i suoi colori e la sua posizione incastonata tra la montagna e il fiume, dove si può sostare per rinfrescarsi con un gelato o bere qualcosa seduti nelle terrazze in riva del Brenta.

Una particolarità che ha reso negli anni famosa Valstagna, è il rafting, che tutti possono praticare prenotando l'escursione presso la scuola di rafting del posto, un'attività molto frequentata da persone provenienti da tutto il nord-est del paese. Sono anni che vorrei provare anch'io questa esperienza, ma non ho ancora trovato qualcuno che voglia farla insieme, prima o poi troverò qualcuno o deciderò di andare da solo, aggregandomi ad altre persone se si può, su questo non mi sono ancora informato, ma credo che non sia un problema, non penso bisogni per forza formare un'intera squadra, visto che i gommoni trasportano diverse persone.

Ma questo non è tutto, il fiume ha reso famoso il paese grazie anche al sito di allenamento e gare di canoa e kayak, dove la scuola locale negli anni ha sfornato diversi campioni Olimpici, come la medaglia d'oro Pierpaolo Ferrazzi a Barcellona 92. La passione per il fiume e le sue rapide è un elemento che scorre nelle vene delle persone che abitano questi luoghi, dove sono cresciute convivendo con le ripide vette delle montagne e la forza e imprevedibilità del Fiume

Piccolino ma molto carino, un paese che se si è in zona, vale la pena fermarsi a visitare, anche solo per bere un caffè lungo le sponde del Brenta e godersi la fresca brezza che caratterizza questa bellissima vallata.
