HiveBloPoMo | Movie Monday
Today on the HiveBloPoMo calendar it says to write about 4 of your favorite movies. I attempted this in April, but things didn't work out for me. I can't just talk about 4 movies at one time. This post would take you at least 30 min. to read and probably 2-4 days to write. So I'm gonna write about one of my favorite movies and include the trailers for 3 others.
Annie - 2014
Starring - Jamie Foxx & Quvenzhané Wallis
A real rags to riches story, from abandonment to a hard knock life to the opportunity of a lifetime. While this is a situation for a foster child that rarely happens.
This updated, contemporary version from Columbia Pictures. This version of Annie (Quvenshane Wallis) has always captured my attention. See a foster child who has a way of making the best of situation hanging on to a promise of her parents return years after they abandoned her to the system.
When Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx), who's a business tycoon, running for mayor of New York City, takes Annie in as a campaign move but as he & Annie are together more & more Stacks start to have feelings for Annie and is torn when his campaign manager sets out to remove Annie from his care & endangers Annie's life in the process. When Stacks finds out, he sets in motion a plan to recover Annie. When finally reunited Stacks & Annie are together at last and becomes an insepreable pair.

Yes, I've probably posted the whole dang thing but that's how much I love this movie. This is also why I couldn't possibly write about 3 more. So Here's the three othe trailers.

Staring Angela Bassett & Laurence Fishbourne

I love this movie as much as I love the main artist in the movie, Tina Turner. Her story hits very close to home as I went through a similar time in my life. Of course without the fame & fortune.
Maid In Manhattan - 2002
Staring Jennifer Lopez, Ralph Fiennes, & Tyler Posey
"A Senatorial candidate falls for a hotel maid, thinking she is a socialite, when he sees her trying on a wealthy woman's dress." Source; IMDb
I couldn't decide on which trailer so I included them both. They tell two different sides of the same story.
Soul Men - 2008
Starring Samuel L Jackson & Bernie Mac
Not only do I like the stars in this movie but I also like the musi era and watching them perform. Good drama with a twist of comedy & music.

Conclusion
As you can see, I really love my Rags to Riches stories. I love the drama with a little comedy & the music makes it great. I like more of the true story type of movie but a good mix of lifestyle & action & music makes for a great set.
