I touched on this a bit in an article I wrote a couple weeks back or so. In my opinion they are going to take what is the child tax credit and turn it into a universal basic income. They are planning on taking the tax credit and splitting it into twelve monthly payments. Some will end up getting more depending upon how many kids they have but ultimately in the end if turned into a UBI it will cut a lot of people of social programs.

After reading your post, that doesn't sound right, of course. Taking something untaxable and turning it into taxable income would be a major slap in the face for those receiving it. If that happens this way.
