Baby Pigeons and Love of Mom
Pigeons lay eggs eight times a year. Pigeons mostly lay two eggs at a time, and the best part of the story is that both males and females can hatch their eggs. You can see this pigeon is sitting on guard for these two squabs.
These two will grow up soon as both their parents can feed them. How big? See in the picture I took last year-
Surprised? In mammals, only the female can breastfeed her young ones, but in pigeons, both the male and female can feed their babies. Yes, pigeons are special because they have a sack-like structure on their necks. This sack discharges fluids called crop milk. So these pigeons feed off the milk from this pouch. This healthy milk contains a lot of protein and fat.
Soon the weight of these chicks will double. These pigeon babies will stay in the nest for two more months when their lovely parents will keep feeding them. Now two small children and their mother are seen giving the message of life to the entire world. Look at the chicks, full of innocence, affection, sacrifice, and life’s hopes.
They have every reason to be proud ❤️ Are they nesting on the ground?
!PIZZA !ALIVE
No, they are big enough as two months-olds now out of their nests, thanks to their parents.
Oh, then they are good at flying :)
