@susie-saver, aunt to @eddie-earner (I know, it's complicated 😁), star of the Saturday Savers Club.

@susie-saver is the alt savings account for @shanibeer. The savings account is used to model the 365 day savings challenge for the Saturday Savers Club over on the @eddie-earner account (FAQs). The Saturday Savers Club is part of the SPinvest Get Rich Slowly family of tokens including SPI growth token (@spinvest), LBI growth token and CL income token (@lbi-token), and EDS income token and its miners EDSM and EDSMM (@eddie-earner). EDS has a guaranteed 12% APY income and currently pays 27% APY HIVE income every Monday.

UPDATE 10/07/22: Thank you everyone who took part in the giveaway. We had eighteen participants, and a winner: @tengolotodo (hope I've got all the consonants and vowels in the right order). Hurrah - check your wallet 😍

Introduction

We started running the Saturday Savers Club in 2021. We had a great time through the year swapping tips for saving, taking part in challenges, thinking up side hustles. You can check our weekly progress and all the resources in the 2021 Round-Up post.

For 2022, we took a slightly different approach, more focused on helping savers, especially new accounts, to grow their Hive Power. Everyone was free to set their own goals and plans, for Hive or any other currency, with @susie-saver as the model for growing Hive Power (check susie's wallet).

A few weeks ago, @spinvest, the umbrella account for the SPinvest family, joined ListNerds (and is already at number 29 in the top 50 richlist). I joined the @spinvest downline to support the SPI growth fund and started to investigate whether ListNerds could help our Saturday Savers build their Hive Power.

Everyone is welcome to join the Saturday Savers Club - check last week's post.

What is ListNerds?

ListNerds is a blockchain (or tokenised) Multi-Layer Marketing platform. Subscribers agree to receive and read emails and to verify quality emails by voting for them. Subscribers can also send emails to other subscribers to read and verify.

For each of these actions, there is the opportunity to receive tokens:
MAIL - for opening, reading and clicking through to linked posts and web-pages in the emails.
CTP - for voting for quality emails, if those emails are verified (if they reach a threshold of 20 votes).
LISTNERDS - for sending an email which is verified by votes from other subscribers.

Each of these tokens has a use:
MAIL - for each MAIL token, you can send an email to one other person.
CTP - for every 25 CTP you hold, you are able to vote on an email from another subscriber.*
LISTNERDS - the higher the number of LISTNERDS you hold, the higher the value of your vote.**
* The CTP voting bar replenishes at the rate of 20% every 24 hours.
** The top LISTNERDS holder - No 1 in the richlist - has a vote worth 10: that is, 50% of the threshold needed to verify an email.

LISTNERDS has a free subscription and four other subscription packages, each with a different range of benefits. This post is about the opportunities there are for new or very small Hive accounts to grow using the free subscription.

How can ListNerds help you to grow your Hive Power?

One of the very best features of ListNerds is that you have an interested and willing audience who want to read your emails and are rewarded for doing so. Everyone who subscribes to ListNerds has agreed to read emails and when they do, they receive MAIL tokens.

When you subscribe, you agree to read emails, too, which leads you to other people's posts and that wonderful thing: content discovery. You start to find posts and accounts that you are interested in, whether that is crypto, football, food, writing, art, travel and so on.

Rather than having to track down content that might interest you, it is brought straight to your inbox in ListNerds and you get rewarded for reading the emails and visiting the linked posts or web-pages. It is easy to start networking by leaving a comment on the posts you visit.

You receive between fifty and seventy emails to your inbox each day and, over the course of several days, through opening and clicking through to the posts and web pages, you will build up MAIL which you can use to send your email to other subscribers. I built 1,000 MAIL over about three days, which took me about half an hour each day to do.

You can send one email a week with the free subscription and you can choose how many people you send that to from your overall MAIL budget. If you want to promote your Hive blog, you can choose to link to the whole of your blog, or you may choose a specific post that you would like to promote to a new audience.

ListNerds provides an opportunity to refresh evergreen posts that have passed their payout date. There are some great examples on ListNerds of creative writers promoting their back catalogue of stories or maybe you have timeless travel or cookery posts that you could feature in an email?

One new subscriber, @beeber, wrote a blog post especially to introduce herself to the ListNerd community and then included the link to that post in her email. Other subscribers have linked to other posts (not their own) that bring value to the ListNerds community. Some of the interesting posts I have learned about through ListNerds recently include:
HiveLIST Publishing Coming Soon by @hivelist
HiveFest Tickets Up for Grabs by @anomadsoul and
Hive Business Centre by @shortsegments

Some nice features about ListNerds
  • It's a friendly community with subscribers that want to support each other.
  • There are lots of resources and tutorials and a Discord server where you can get help.
  • You get some nice freebies: some CTP to start you off and random gifts of ListNerds.
  • You easily find new and fascinating content.
  • Lots of "how-to" posts by @thisismylife (scroll down to find the links to each post).
ListNerd benefits for new and small accounts
  • An engaged audience that wants to read your email with a link to your blog or post.
  • A structured approach that helps you to find new accounts and network easily.
  • A task bar with easy to reach targets (eg "read ten emails a day").
  • You may get HIVE upvotes and tips as well as comments and new followers.
  • You can give out CTP tips for free!
Things to think about
  • It can be a bit overwhelming at first - take it easy!
  • It takes a bit of time to learn how ListNerds works - take it easy!
  • You can get started having fun for a little time each day and very little cost.

500 CTP Giveaway for Comments

Tell us your experiences with ListNerds in the comments - has it helped to build your Hive Power? What do you like best? Is there anything you would like to change? What advice would you give to someone thinking about joining ListNerds?

Maybe you're not on ListNerds: What questions do you have? (You can stake CTP on Hive-Engine and use the #ctp tag on posts without ever joining ListNerds - everyone wins)! Do you think there's an opportunity to grow your savings using ListNerds?

Everyone who comments before the countdown deadline will be entered into the Wheel of Names and a random winner chosen.

I hadheard of Listnerds for quite a while before joining, but had stayed away from it for the wrong reasons - I thought it was an email spamming platform, from what I'd heard about it. Then @engilhramn persuaded me to join (thanks by the way !), stating that the rewards were quite colossal. So I've been in about 4 weeks now, just on the basic account. My first mail flopped, but the ones I've posted since have done well, netting me quite a few Listnerds (hundreds in fact). The only issue is the 10 week wait to withdraw from the platform - I guess they are just trying to protect their price - which I think is fair for something they are giving away. Anyway, I've found it worth while as I'm also getting likes and comments on posts from people that have found my content because of the mails I've placed on Listnerds - so its working. And to help with the unstaking time, each time I get a post payout I unstake 20% of my total listnerds balance, which means that in about 7 more weeks time, I'll start getting a weekly payout of a nice sum of Listnerds which I'll use to invest in other projects. So for me its been worth it, it only takes me a few mins each day to do what I need to do on the platform to keep it ticking over - so thats all good. Cheers @hoosie

It's good to hear that you've had such a positive experience of the platform, and that you can manage a basic account with a few minutes work each day.

One of things that I like about ListNerds is that it's not an email spamming platform - it's all contained on the website and only people who have agreed to get emails receive them.

I only joined ListNerds four days ago, I know many of the users there, and I have not sent a mail yet, sooo I cannot say what has happened, obviously it has not affect on my HP yet, although I have had a vote on a couple of comments from new authors, well new to me authors that I engaged with on their posts. So I tell a wee white lie, in theory my HP will grow ever so tinily once those rewards come in.

This is a nice introduction to ListNerds and what it is.

I joined there June 6 and it is good because I am able to share my own content and get some engagement and votes too. It makes me interact more with other users. I observed that other ListNerds members (I think big accounts) do not like when I share other people's posts that I find interesting or even the older posts of my wife. They vote down big and my Mail do not get verified. I did not unstake any of my ListNerds rewards yet so my HP is still small but hopefully, it will help me in the next months.

It makes me interact more with other users.

That's a great benefit to being part of ListNerds. It's often quite hard for newcomers to find a way to interact.

Interesting that other members don't like you sharing posts from other members. I guess they like to see that you have put some effort in and are not just benefiting from someone else's work.

I don't have very extensive experience with listnerds yet, but am very excited to get to the point where it is profitable for me, I do have faith that if the time and money is put in then the rewards will show

@susie-saver love the post.

I'm biased, since I'm a hardcore nerdy πŸ€“

I emphatically, based on my own experience; have increased my branding, earnings and engagement on HIVE through ListNerds.

I was a member off-chain back in the day and immediately went all in on it, when the CTP team put it on the blockchain. Never looked back.

and yes found your post in a mail on ListNerds.

Never looked back.

That's great news from the top of the richlist 😍

I like the token distribution for verified posts - everyone is in with a chance no matter how old or new or how big their stake.

I have been in Listnerds since day one. I am only a free account so my total number of listnerds is not on the richlist.
I would say that yes Listnerds has helped to build my Hive Power. This is because I get more people to read my post when it is posted in listnerds. I would call it similar to promoting the post.

Typically it will double my rewards on the post and thus my Hive power.

I have been a member of Listnerds for a little under two months (and saw this on Listnerds). A lot depends on the habits on Hive that you bring to the platform. If you are consistent in bringing quality in what you bring people's eyes to AND you are consistent in commenting on other people's work and getting to know them that way, you WILL increase your readership and thus increase rewards and Hive Power, in addition to picking up Listnerds rewards.

One thing to consider that is true on Hive but more true on Listnerds: it helps to be organized. It is not a lot of work to learn how to do a good email, but it would help you to go through the guides, notice best practices, and develop a system for getting it done that you do consistently, however often you post. On the free side, depending on the day of the week, you get four or five mails a month. That's it. You might want to pick a day of a week to send mail, and then organize your reading to be able to send that mail to 1,000-1,500 to give it a good chance to be verified.

One thing to consider on Listnerds that is NOT possible on Hive: it is possible to introduce people to material far outside the seven-day window, but there are BIG downvoters who do not like that. So, if you have the free plan, doing 4-5 emails a month, you may want to think about new material mostly, and then introduce older material in that same line a little as a time as you establish readers and voters on Listnerds -- and this makes it IMPERATIVE that you have 1,000-1,500 mail tokens available to get to enough readers CONSISTENTLY to overcome any downvoting. If you upgrade to being able to send mail more times a week, and you have quality older material, thoughtfully work it in. I am at the Enterprise level, able to send two mails a day, and a thoughtful blend of old and new material works well for me, although OCCASIONALLY, downvotes still come.

In conclusion: YES, Listnerds CAN increase your Hive Power by bringing more eyes and readers and voters to your work, and like Hive, there are downvoters and a few technical issues here and there, but if you can learn the platform, organize yourself for success, and put in the work consistently, Listnerds will reward you in many ways!

Some good insights there, @deeanndmathews, thank you 😍.

So networking is key, and re-cycling old material has to be managed sensitively to avoid downvotes.

Good advice about being organised and managing your time. Nice to have some MAIL numbers to work towards, too.

if you can learn the platform, organize yourself for success, and put in the work consistently, Listnerds will reward you in many ways!

The most wonderful thing I found in Listnerds is the 'content discovery'. Being on this platform since 2017, I build a followers list in where many people are not active anymore, and my feed doesn't always show the most interesting blogs. With Listnerds I get it handed in to my mailbox every day. Quite a change that I really like. Content I would have never seen if it was not for Listnerds.

It will only get better as the team is planning to make it possible for users to choose what categories they are interested in to receive in their inbox.

Another big plus is that you're rewarded with every action you do on Listnerds. If you read mail, you'll earn MAIL tokens. If you vote for a mail, you'll earn CTP, if you send mail you'll earn LISTNERDS and for staking Listnerds and CTP on the platform you're again receiving rewards for both. It's a big win/win for everyone.

Take with that the content you'll discover on your journey, and the extra engagement on your posts. That makes it completely worth it for me. And yes, it's very possible to grow your hivepower and gain more attention for your blog with Listnerds.

Absolutely - it was a real pleasure to be introduced to new content, one of the high spots of my experience so far.

That was a great write up of ListNerds.

Echoing many of the other commenters. I've found it a great tool in which to engage with other content producers and try to improve the traffic to my content. Along the way I've got to know some great people using the tool and been introduced to some great communities like the Saturday Savers Club, Hive Chess Club, Hive Business List, CTP and on and on!

As a newbie its been a lot of fun and I can recommend it.

Great post about Listnerds it is an awesome tool for Hive.

I joined before it was on the Blockchain, i upgraded to enterprize once i worked out the returns on investment was a complete no brainer when you factor the tokenomics.
If you are trying to get eyes on anything then Listnerds is perfect for that as it already has a business client base.

With it now on the chain as well, fact is content and marketing go hand in hand and will always benefit from working together.

I've been on my Listnerd fix for around 3 months I guess. I'm expecting my first unstake in the next days. I joined quite soon after joining Hive actually.
I was honestly shocked by the reward when my first mail was verified. It's now on my daily routine, and what I like most is having content delivered to me without having to look after it.

I'm not a big writer, I don't have thousands of tokens, I can't really say about HP, but Listnerds paid my Splinterlands Spellbook, which is already great!

I haven't visited Listnerds much lately but I don't think it adds that much more HP to your rewards. It does give you more of an audience so it's good for a project and getting more people to know about it plus engagement.

Dear @susie-saver, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago when the HBD stabilizer proposal rose above it.

May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work?
You can do it on Peakd, Ecency, Hive.blog or using HiveSigner.

Just getting to grips with the CTP and LISTNERDS tokens now and seeing what is what, and what benefits upgrading actually bring.
