Let's say you're middle management, what kind of leadership style would you prefer to direct you? One in which your manager will intervene head on when you hit a bumpy road or one where your manager coaches you in how to handle the situation? Or is it based on which situation?

The coaching style would be more effective. This way the person being coached can demonstrate competence and reliabilty in getting a task or mission done. After a while, you get left alone so you can focus on what you do best.

Agree. I also prefer a coach in place of one who feels the need to step in every time. With that in mind, I also try to share the knowledge in that manner.

Micromanaging tends to lead to greater problems over the long run. It's also stressful for us and for the micromanager. We don't need that.

I work best without the micro management. I prefer a Manager that gets in the trenches with you.

Happy Monday @tanjakolader 🤗

Same, I don't thrive in a micro managed environment, but do have respect for leaders/managers who do know what they're talking about and who know their team and the processes, etc. Ergo, they took the time to get to know the company and how things are run.
