Live Life To The Fullest🎶Life Too Short #APART

@rarej and I have already announced in multiple of our posts, how our rural residence is home to - or in the very least an attraction to many living creatures - from birds, to ants, spiders and the occasional snake. Not so long ago one little critter even became a ward in our home.

A couple of days ago, I was going about my day and as usual something fell out of my hand and when I picked it up, I saw something move behind one of our potted plants. Because we were visited by a snake some time ago, I was on high alert. With caution I moved the pot to carefully observe the situation and was surprised by this little chick. He was brittle, looked cold and had a small rod hovering above its head.

After @rarej arrived, I immediately asked him what to do and he asked our animal friendly mates for some advice. They all expressed what we were already thinking and that the little bird was too young and weak to survive, but we couldn't find it in our hearts to leave him to the elements, so we cleaned him, put him on some warm old cloth and tried to feed him.

He didn't want to eat, so I left it near him and noticed he was sleepy. The next morning I did catch him taking a few sips from the soggy food, but he slept most of the day. A few times - I constantly checked up on him - I did catch him trying to stand up or move around, but he slept most of the day.

Though it gave me some form of hope, the fact that he didn't want to eat after that morning, made us realize that he wouldn't make it. The day after, we regrettably had to say our goodbyes. This goes to show how short our lifespan really is and that we shouldn't use the time granted worrying.

The song Life Too Short by Gramps Morgan, expresses this blatantly, that life's too short to take on heavy loads or to hold grudges and that we should live life to the fullest as it is granted by the most High. For those times when we don't have the strength to carry on, we can lean on Jah. Morgan's commanding voice inspires and makes one listen to this powerful message.

This post is in commemoration of our little feathered friend, who left us too soon. Yes life goes on, but that doesn't mean we made some memories and learned from this experience. How about you, any experience in trying to safe a hurt animal? Let me know in the comments below 🤓.
