Hive Is The Ideal Place For Builders

What are you doing on Hive?

This is a serious question. The answer provides insight into where things will be in the future. Hive is offering people an opportunity they rarely had in their lives. Another question is whether people are taking advantage of it?

Too many are conditioned to be parasites; to take what is given to them. This is something our society trains us for. You should, after all, be happy with that 1.2% cost of living increase. They are so gracious when it is given to us.

For years we talked about the opportunities on Hive. There are many ways to look at this but the bottom line is we are granted something the majority does not have in their everyday lives.

Hive gives each of us a chance to build something.

Time For Entrepreneurs To Step Up

Cryptocurrency is riddled with technical people. Certainly this is paramount to the future success of the industry. They are the ones who lay the foundation since they are building the infrastructure for everyone else. However, keep in mind we are dealing with permissionless systems here. What they build each person can utilize for his or her purposes.

Infrastructure is not going to attract the masses. What is created on top of that will. This can be technically based like an application or it can be something such as forging a niche with content. Either way, we all have a role to play.

There is a major difference between the mindset of an entrepreneur and one who is an employee (slave). Many complain how they want more in life yet remained locked in to their present roles. Perhaps circumstances and responsibility necessitates that. However, when we look at Hive, that goes out the window.

Hive is for builders. What are you building?

This is the crux of the discussion. Those who approach Hive as new technology they are being handed can grasp at the potential. Most, sadly, appear to be missing it.

Doers Versus Complainers

We see this throughout life. There are probably 100 critics for each person that is out doing something. Society seems to love ripping apart what others do. Naturally, the ones who are usually most guilty of this are those who do nothing. Isn't it funny how those who are busy building really do not have time to rip apart the work of others?

There is a mindset of just fixing it. This is what makes someone like Elon Musk excel. Certainly, he has is issues but one thing he does not spend time on is complaining about things. If there is a problem, he simply decides to address it. Whatever one thinks about the guy, this is a noble quality.

Unfortunately, many in the cryptocurrency and blockchain world sit around waiting for things to be handed to them. They want applications that are without bugs. If a project is lagging, they simply complain to the team that enough is not being done (or quickly enough). They do this on Hive but also take to Twitter or whatever platform to voice their opinion.

While they are spending time doing this, they are producing little of value. There is no building in this scenario. In fact, it is likely the same behavior they exhibited throughout life. After all, these are probably the same people who sit around complaining about the boss or the company they work for. Sadly, many do this for years.

Hive is the opportunity to change that.

Showcase Your Talents

What are your talents? Hive is a mechanism whereby they can be exhibited. The ecosystem is providing a lot of built-in feature for someone to build upon.

For example, there is a decentralized database where your data can be house, free of charge. The only requirement is having some Resource Credits. At the same time, there is an image server being run that costs you nothing. Someone else is carrying the financial burden for that.

Hive provides a built in audience. There is a community here which is willing to support other members of the ecosystem. Try to find that elsewhere when starting from scratch.

When it comes to basic business building, there is little to rival it. If stuff is being offered, especially in the digital world, there is usually a catch. YouTube is a prime example of this.

Sure, few of us can code with enough proficiency to build applications and or games. There are, however, many other opportunities on Hive.

Perhaps you excel at some of these:

  • poetry
  • photography
  • memes
  • singing or music
  • marketing

Do you have knowledge about sports, history, or physics? Are there works you can put together which will have value?

Consider if 100 people on Hive were actively working on databases tied to their realm of expertise.

Also ponder what it would be like if you were the "go-to" person on Hive for a particular niche of knowledge. Perhaps you are a foremost expert on classic sportscars. This is a venue whereby you can exhibit that knowledge while building a following of enthusiasts.

What if someone has an online cannabis accessory store? How valuable would it be to be Mr. or Ms. Bong on Hive? Starting from this point, one could begin the process of building a business right on Hive, or at least a supplement to the existing one.

In Conclusion

Ultimately, we are looking at unlimited possibilities. Hive offers a few things from the infrastructure perspective which do not exist elsewhere. For that reason, everyone should be looking to build something.

There are a number of games opening up (or expanding). Maybe it is time to establish yourself as the foremost expert in one of them. Build a brand around that while focusing all efforts in that area. Certainly one who is a top player, if that game becomes moderately successful, then he or she is positioned well.

Instead of writing a 175 or 250 word post about what the price of Bitcoin will do next week, spend the time building something that is going to bring people to you. Look to establish your niche like it is a business because, that is exactly what it is.

We have no idea how Web 3.0 and the associated pieces are going to unfold. What we do know is those who are involved and looking to build are likely going to be the ones who enjoy the benefits. Of course, with the next generation Internet, that is going to be financial in nature.

So, going back to the original question: what are you doing on Hive?

Are you working on building something? If not, you might be missing a grand opportunity.

One final thought: look for collaboration. Perhaps there are others on the list above who are able to add to what you are doing. For example, many a deal could be struck with someone with marketing abilities to enhance the standing one has within his or her niche. Maybe an arrangement using beneficiary payouts or some revenue sharing could be done where both parties gain.

It is time to get creative.

What are you doing on Hive?

Writing the story of my life experiences.

Building a database of my insights and knowledge.

Helping homesteaders with their projects and helping them network together to share their knowledge.

Occasionally finding folks who enjoy thinking outside the box.

Having true ownership over my content sans companies, corporations or advertisers providing me with the illusion that it is my content... while raking in the profits from it and harvesting and selling my personal data!

Exploring this brave new frontier with other folks!

I may well be doing a few other things on Hive but mayhaps you get the point.

Yes we can build some incredible things and share a great deal of knowledge. Since this is on a decentralized database housed all over the world, you knowledge will be there for others to see as long as the chain is running.

Greetings friend, I really like this information, it is as if you were giving a push to a child to learn to ride a bike alone. I recently understood this in Hive and I am currently trying to give my audiovisual contribution to my friends of Hive, so that they can learn to work much better their videos in 3speak, and I hope to gradually achieve the permission of the whales to create my own community, thanks for your information, I hope to continue learning a lot from you.

The tools will keep expanding in the future. That should help each of us who are looking to expand what we are building.

That's me with the leofinance app. It's not working flawlessly but I appreciate the development of the team a lot.

What are you doing on Hive?

As you eluded to... building a niche for my area of expertise! Our writing community on HIVE is pretty amazing, and I've been working at meshing our slowly growing TTRPG presence and our writing presence together in the Worldbuilding community - because building fictional worlds is fuckin' rad!

It's super niche, but, it's a hobby folks are passionate about and I think HIVE can be a place where the hobby can really take off if it gets nurtured.

I will take this a positive dose to kick start my week on Hive.

To answer the question am not only on Hive to establish a passive income for myself but to support the ecosystem where possible. My top priority is the long term sustainability of Hive and everything built on it.

We have an amazing opportunity here!

It's funny how timely this post is. My mind had been swirling recently with this. I've been asking myself, what am i doing? What do people know me for on Hive?! I couldn't come up with a valid answer because I may dabble into one or two things. I really want to find myself and build my niche here. But my head just swirls with different things and it gets harder to put them together. Someone advised me to just keep developing and soon that I'll have that big break. That it'll come to me because I looked into doing something that can be taken out of the Blockchain. I've even started working on the minor things, at least things I'm sure about till I have put everything all together. May I ask a question? How would you do it? If more than five ideas keep coming to you but they seem like a lot of work? Would you just do it? And what if you enjoy all these things? I don't know if I'm making sense but this is what's going on in my mind...

An overabundance of ideas is probably better than no ideas.

My suggestion is just to get started. Pick one and begin. Nothing will get accomplished until you pick up the task.

If you wait, it is another day lost.

HIVE can be a very good option of being productive,I guess the food recipes, the sports discussions or the market financial schemes etc are the points and regions where the users get a chance to enhance their knowledge and then apply it to their personal life.

Well said, I think the communities are a great place to start for all of this. Especially if you aren't a developer or you don't have a really strong business idea. I just don't think people are coming to some of the communities like you think they might. That probably all goes back to the number of users on Hive. As that grows having an established niche will be a good thing.

Communities certainly are a great place to start. No matter how small the niche, it can grow.

the idea of building a business is not on most people's mind but we can be paid for what we do.

A really nice heads up! You know, most Hive users have not been able to dig deep into the richness of the Hive blockchain. I explored further, and I can't agree less with all you've just said. There is always something for everyone!

I came here for the games and I am still around playing them. From there, I started commenting and creating some content here and there but I still think I focus more on my gaming-related articles compared to the other options that I have. Either way, it's all building on top of Hive and creating a place for everyone to be in.

Hive is the best place for startups. I've thought over and over again to start a project here, bought even a domain or two, but with life, I couldn't gather myself to start it. The idea faded away in time, but others came to life. Hopefully, I will start one in the near future, something small just to get accustomed to the blockchain technology and afterward think bigger from there.

Opportunities for all! Time to get busy.

For me, I dabble in a few areas and am experimenting on a few things. In the future, I'll probably focus down a little. Travel fused with some sort of comedy would be ideal ;) I also like to cover sports, tv/movies, books and personal growth/psychology/philosophy type stuff. Mostly I write blog posts but am looking to do videos and perhaps a podcast down the line.

Everyone can have their own niche, as many things can be fused together, add in their own personality and that's a unique offering. Be consistent and deliver quality info or entertainment and you're all set!

Infrastructure is not going to attract the masses

Not only that but infact they can not understand it until they'd sit and learn for long. And who has that kind of time nowadays. But a summary of what the infrastructure entails and can do is hown forth by what is done using it...like you said - creating content etc.

And I know as more serious people come on board with the best practices they have seen, Hive continues to be a place of building...!

But I know I am not someone who has a niche or two precisely. I dabble into series of entities here on Hive. I hope I continue to build..😩

I came to Hive originally in late-2019, searching for a refuge from the cancel cult-ure personal vendetta society that exists within every legacy media platform of any kind. There's so much hatred and division, conversations aren't easily found that are worthwhile. I could spend hours on Twitter, scrolling, and not see a single thing of real value to my life, personally.

With Hive, I came in search of community, not just of writers, but of people with similar interests, whether they be musical, artistic, or financial in nature, it's all about finding the tribe.

With LeoFinance, I have found like-minded people who learn about the same types of things I do. Similar interests make it much easier to strike up casual conversation.

What you mention regarding "Doers Versus Complainers" is very important. If we even try to build something slightly better, someone else can build a bit more on top of it. STEEM started out as a mere social media on blockchain. The community started creating various DAPPs and now we have a whole ecosystem with Games, DeFi, NFTs and many more.
