Leofinance Is A Powerful Force Within Cryptocurrency

It is easy to get lost in what is being created.

Since the beginning, I was optimistic about Leofinance. The vision that was originally presented was something that struck a chord with me. While that has since changed (and expanded), it showed the foresight and long-term thinking that was being brought to the table.

To me, that is vital in cryptocurrency. We are dealing with new technology and the evolution of the Hive blockchain is only feeding into the vision some of these projects are carrying.

With consistent building, we see a thriving ecosystem developing under the Leofinance umbrella. As we move further into the digital realm, this will become a basis for many Web 3.0 applications.

Recently, a number of people wrote posts about LeoThreads and LeoGlossary. Since I have intimate experience with both, perhaps this sharing will excite some people.

Leomarkettalk Reimagined

Leomarkettalk came about as a result of discussions of what we now know as LeoThreads. Back then, it did not have a name. What we did know is the idea of short-form content on Leofinance was vital. The thinking was a place where people could post charts and other financial discussions without getting into long-form content. After all, many investors are not noted content creators.

What ensued was a multi-year wait (and strain on the development team) before we got the breakthrough last August. With the introduction of LeoThreads, we see how microblogging on Hive is here to stay.

This caused Leomarkettalk, which was designed to stimluate engagement, to lose its use case. It caused a bit of a "shutdown" for a while, until recently when it was reimagined.

For those who do not know, Leomarkettalk is a "community" account. All rewards are utilized for community benefit. To start, the LEO that comes in is staked and is part of the LPUD prize pool. This month we delegated over 7,000 Leo Power.

We also are supporting the liquidity pools on Polycub. This is an aspect of the Leofinance family that is overlooked. The present "financial" focus is on Cubfinance. Nevertheless, the $HIVE that comes into the account is swapped for HBD and placed in the pool on Polycub.

The Leomarkettalk account is now used daily to comment and drop suggestions for LeoGlossary.

LeoGlossary

If anyone missed it, this is the formation of "Investopedia on the Blockchain". The goal here is to create a massive repository of financial and investing information. Of course, we are looking to tilt things in the direction of cryptocurrency.

It is a project that is not even 6 months old. This is still a proof of concept, looking to show the validity of blockchain based databases (glossaries). We are also following the Wikipedia format of linking.

Between the two, this is a growing part of the Leofinance community. Each day more links are added to the database as we strive for width and depth. Ultimately, this will be an educational resource for many of things things located within cryptocurrency, and especially on Hive.

Each of these is adding pages to Leofinance. This is something that will be important with regards to the ad revenue. If we can attract more people, having a resource where they return on a regular basis is helpful.

As always, the community can help by using the links in the articles. This helps to spruce up the articles especially about topics people might not have a great deal of understanding about such as Splinterlands.

LeoThreads

This is the Big Kahuna of the Leofinance family in my opinion. The potential that resides here is enormous.

We know the goal is to try and 10x the userbase of Leo by the end of 2023. If the new UI is as advertised, we should eclipse this rather easily.

Microblogging is something that most find to be simple and easy. Over the last week or so, the number of people dropping in appears to be growing. Keep in mind, we are still operating without the new UI. Nevertheless, people are finding their time there enjoyable.

What is interesting is the range of topics that are covered. Since it is made up of quick threads, all kinds of content is being dropped. People drop a thread about a sport team the follow. There are photos. Recently a bunch of people started dropping memes. Of course, this is a great way to promote articles on Hive and Leofinance.

Transactions

To me, the world of blockchain is about transactions. There are very few conducting them. That means we an easy path to stand out.

Hive typically ranks #3 in this area. The total transactions usually are around 3 million. This has us way below WAX, which runs around 7 million per day. Granted, that is becoming a go-to place for NFTs. This will be a challenge for Hive until smart contracts are a part of the ecosystem.

That said, microblogging and the other Leofinance features could really help this going forward. When looking at millions of transactions, this is a drop in the bucket in the social media realm.

Leofinance is setting itself up to be a powerful force within cryptocurrency. The key is long term planning and to keep building.

One thing we saw throughout this bear market from the team.

I agree that there was something special about Steemleo and it was long term vision and honesty. Add to those two things technological knowledge and a persistent work ethic, and we have the seeds of greatness.
