LeoGlossary And The New Leofinance User Interface

By now most have heard about the update that is coming to the Leofinance UI. This is going to radically change the entire focus of the desktop application. We can only presume it will be integrated into the mobile at thereafter.

So what is the basis for the update. According to @khaleelkazi, we are going to see Threads highlighted. Microblogging on the blockchain is going to be taken to another level. This is seen as an important onboarding tool. It is imperative that we start to get engagement going within this ecosystem. Hive, in general, is lacking on this front.

Leofinance looks to change it. By altering the UI, hopefully we are presented with a feature rich front end that does allow for a "Twitter-like experience". This would go a long way to separating Hive from the rest of the industry.

That said, we are not looking at Leofinance losing its core tenets. Threads is a general use case feature. People are free to discuss whatever floats their boat. Images can be linked or uploaded pertaining to whatever area of interest the individual has. Some Threads are in keeping with Leofinance's core focus, many are not.

This will only expand as more users join.

LeoGlossary For Blogging

Blogging (long form content) is still going to be an important aspect of the Leofinance platform. Here is where we see the traditional genres of investing, cryptocurrency, and finance entering. While the microblogging has it all, the long form section is where we isolate back to the community interest.

LeoGlossary was started to operate as a respository of definitions and information relating to those topics. As I write these words, there are over 2,200 posts under the LeoGlossary account. Most of those are individual terms along with the explanation of what they mean.

Think of this as a Investopedia on the blockchain.

One of the goals is to start getting some search engine ranking. We have our fingers crossed that the new UI will have some optimization for the search engines in it. LeoGlossary would fare much better if it was part of the main page, at in a drop down menu. The fact the Leofinance menu map is not excitable to the search engines is a problem. Nevertheless, there are some things that can be done.

What we do know is LeoGlossary is about to have a much bigger part of Leofinance. Here is where the second goal enters.

Before getting to that, here is what Khal posted on Twitter.

There it is plain as day. LeoGlossary is going to be plugged into the new UI.

This will benefit all those who are posting content on Leofinance by allowing people to easily link the terms as they are writing them. For example, if someone types in the world cryptocurrency, it could show up as a highlight, allowing the author to click on it and instantly generate a link.

Here we see how the knowledge level of an article can be enhanced by making it easy to learn what cryptocurrency is if one was unsure.

It also provides backlinks (internal) to these pages, something that should help Leofinance down the road as the search engines keep coming across all this content.

Kinking Things Into Overdrive

According to the timeframe given, we should see the new UI somewhere around year end. It was estimated to be about 45 days out.

This means a lot more has to be added to Leofinance to get prepared for that. The goal is to surpass 2,500 posts, with some more meaningful content being created.

We also are going through and linking what was already done. @gadrian is going through all the Splinterlands content to ensure all terms within the explantion are properly linked.

LeoGlossary is a project that was started by me but it is not owned by me. It is posted on the blockchain, hence anyone can utilize it. Now we have the Leofinance looking to integrate the data into the front end for the entire userbase.

This is how things operate in Web 3.0.

I am looking forward to the new UI. I am guessing it will just automatically translate terms but only for the LeoFinance version of the page right?

I dont know how it will incorporate LeoGlossary so I will be learning along with you.

All LeoGlossary terms are linked to Leofinance.io pages. So yes it will only be for that since Leofinance is the ones implementing it.

Can't wait to see the new UI.
As one of those who presented their design ideas, I am interested on what they would adapt/use from what we proposed. 😊

For SEO, it is important that long-form content isn't hidden behind the Twitter-like interface. That there are links to it on the main page.
