Governor Waller gave a speech a few months back on the entire subject of cryptocurrency. If that is what the Fed is thinking overall, it is golden. Of course, with that institution, only the Chair and Vice-Chair matter.
I really hope Biden reappoints Powell. If he does, cryptocurrency will have some allies in that institution. Powell will never go for a CBDC.

I took the opportunity to read Waller's earlier speech this morning and briefly thought about incorporating some of it into this article. But I thought that might be too much even though it was very insightful.
As for Powell, the only good thing to say is we probably will not see a CBDC under his watch. Otherwise he is proving to be a weak Chairman who is too wishy-washy for my tastes.
