Welcome to Rising Star!

Today we’re going to take a tour of our home town and guide you through the first part of the game, main parts of it’s interface and it’s missions to get you started on the rocky road to stardom.

This guide won’t cover every feature and every menu, my purpose here is to get you comfortable with how the game mechanics works at a basic level so you’ll feel comfortable with exploring the game more in-depth on your own.

Let’s get started!

rs-htt-dashboard.png

The Main Dashboard

This is the main dashboard where you’ll spend a lot of time. There are quite a lot of features and functions and we’ll go through the most important ones.

rs-htt-progressbar.png

In the top right you’ll find your level, which is needed to be increased to progress further. You’ll also see your in-game balance of earned STARBITS, the main Rising Star token, and your earned STARPRO tokens. I’ll leave the STARPRO tokens out of this getting starter guide, we can worry about them further down the line once you get comfortable with the basics.

The Musician and the Band

You’ll start the game with a free to use musician called the busker. To the right of him you’ll see slots for your band members, which you’ll unlock later in the game.

There are four stats below your chosen musician or band front man, and two bars above. These all affect your gameplay in different ways. The stats below your musician are total values from all your available cards, including temporary bonuses too.

The Ego Bar above your musician in unlocked later in the game, when you reach 1000 fans or reach level 15. When you have more fans than you have skill, your ego increases. Ego increases from doing missions as well. Having an increased ego decrease the maximum amount of STARBITS you can earn on missions, so to maximize your earnings you really need to watch that ego!

Then we have your Energy Bar. Doing missions will cost energy. The energy bar refills by itself quite slowly, and out on missions you can find items such as coffee, which increases the refill rate for a while, or a discarded pizza, which immediately refills your energy bar.

Your Fans is a combination of your permanent fans, these are accumulated through owning cards that increases your fan count, and drunken temporary fans who will sober up in 12 hours and forget about you. Having more fans will allow you to do better missions where you’ll earn more XP and more STARBITS. Fans also increase the amount of STARBITS you can earn per mission across all available missions.

Your Luck is a combination of all luck accumulated from permanent cards that increase your luck, and from temporary luck gained from finding four leaf clovers out on missions. Luck increases the maximum number of drunken fans that you might gain from missions and luck also is used in music lesson missions to increase the amount of skill that you gain from the lesson.

Your Skill skill is a combined amount of skill gained from cards that increase your skill and from skill earned during music lessons. Skill is needed to counter ego. Always try to do a one or few music lessons per day, to keep that ego in check.

IM is the Income Modifier, and it’s not yet in use in this beta version of Rising Star, but will be implemented down the line.

The Zone Map

On this map you can see the different zones in which you can tour. You’ll start in the Home Town zone. Below you can access the different types on missions that you can do. The main focus especially in the beginning is the standard mission in which you’ll earn STARBITS, XP, and basically progress further in the game. You’ll also do quite a few music lessons to increase your skill. There are some special missions that you can do as well, these might earn you BEER tokens or other rewards, but I’ll let you explore these on your own once you’ve gotten started with the basics.

The Missions

There are a lot of different missions in Rising Star. These are just the Home Town missions, you’ll unlock more Zones on the map as you progress through your music career and through the game.

Standard Missions

These are the standard missions which you’ll focus on. You’ll start off with the Illegal Busking mission. As you gain XP to level up and gain more fans, you’ll unlock higher tier missions that earns you more.

The highest tier mission in your Home Town is the Saturday Headline, which cost a lot of energy, needs a lot of fans, but earns you the most that you can earn in your Home Town.

Music Lessons

There are also several music lesson missions that you can do. These earns you no STARBITS reward but they increase your skill, which is vital to keep that ego bar down. Try to do at least one per day even if you’re not currently in need of more skill, you’ll always be happy to have a high skill stat later in the game.

Pointers on Getting Started

I’m no one to tell you how you should play your game. That’s up to you. But I’d like to offer a few pointers so you won’t feel stuck right at the beginning.

Try to always keep a mission running as long as you have any energy left. Not having a mission running means you earn less. Try to do one or a few music lessons per day, more skill is always great to have. Focus on building a large base of permanent fans, as you’ll unlock better missions and you’ll earn more.

You should also follow the @risingstargame account, as they post a compilation post basically every day of very many different Rising Star giveaway posts that you can enter for a chance to win either STARBITS or Rising Star cards from. This is a great way to boost yourself a bit extra in the beginning.

Becoming A STARBITS Millionaire

One great far away goal in Rising Star is to become a STARBITS Millionaire. When you hold one million STARBITS in your Hive Wallet you can get access to a special card and a special mission called STARBITS Millionaire.

This card allows you access to a special mission where you can earn 10,000 STARBITS once per day.

WARNING: Do NOT attempt to buy the STARBITS Millionaire on the Marketplace. It it not transferable and no one is allowed to sell their issued copy. Also and quite importantly, it won’t work. The card ONLY works for the account that it was issued to. You’ll need to earn your own copy!

Hopefully you’ll find it easier to get up and running with Rising Star quicker using the information in this guide. The game is quite intuitive (even in beta version) and it’s very rewarding and fun.
