Artificial Intelligence (A.I) Is No Longer The Future. It's The Present.

As an active member of the NFT space, I've marvelled at what AI could do and with every passing day, it does feels like we haven't even seen 1% of A.I's full ability. Before A.I became so popular for its use in creating art and producing images of people and scenes that've never existed, it's been in use all these while as our smartphone virtual assistant and also in use in automation, but we're clearly in its era now, and it would only improve from now onwards.

There was a trending tag on twitter, #humanartist, where people were protesting the use of AI to replace traditional artist and some people felt like these traditional artists were insecure. As an artist, I do share both perspectives, I understand why some people may not be happy they're replaced by machines who do way much better work faster, but I also admire such tools and as an artist, I've also wished I had access to tools that'll make my work rate faster and more efficient.

In my opinion, I believe A.I as beautiful and effect it is in carrying out tasks may become a deadly tool in the wrong hands and could also cause some serious issues for the human race. For example, A.I like every machine will definitely replace many humans in areas where machine can be used to improve productivity and efficiency for example farming, building and even learning. It's quite unfortunate but this is the reality and it's already happening.

Some of tge recent wonders of AI I see recently are students using AI for assignments, AI looking for the problems with a code, and even using prompts to create songs. I don't think there are limits to what AI could do, but it's always bound to happen. It's been our fate and the best thing is just to accept it and harness its powers for our own use. That way, we can be safe to a good level from its side effects.

I remembered when calculators were not allowed, because teachers were worried students wouldn’t know how to do math anymore.

Same thing with word processing software, students wouldn’t know how to write anymore.

Same thing with the internet, students wouldn’t know how to use the library anymore.

Now with AI, maybe human wouldn’t know how to think anymore.

None of these are 100% true, we are evolving with technology to learn to do things differently. Artists alike will have to be creative differently.

Yeah, the true power of technology is in harnessing their powers and using them in our advantage. To either make our productivity faster or our work better. This is case especially since the human race will only keep developing technology wise. As for traditional art, I believe the hand drawn works will be more appreciated in the future because of the reduced supply, they'll also be regarded as special and valued perhaps even more than AI generated art
