A Lesson from the Streets - The Best Time to Start a Family

lessons from the street - the best time to start a family.png

The street is often seen as not a good place to hang out. This is especially true if the street in question has a lot of crimes and bad influences. For some point in my life, I had the experience hanging out and even drinking one some of this streets where the safety and wellbeing of any individual is at risk.

Yup. I do drink. But for most of my time, I prefer drinking with people older than me. Aside from the booze, I love learning about their life stories. One of the most memorable conversation that they shared to me was the best time to start a family. I did not expect this from a bunch of drunkards as they did questionable things in the past. Also, they are heavy drinkers and are drunk almost every day.

Allow me to share what I’ve learned from that conversation and let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Starting a Family as a Laborer

Anyone who relies on their physical strength (e.g. laborer) must start a family around their early 20s.
The logic behind is, our physical strength is diminishing as we grow old. And starting a family comes with a serious responsibility. You have to provide your children their needs starting from their conception until they are able to stand on their own.

Starting a family at this age as will allow us to financially provide for our family within the years where we are physically strongest. Depending on the number of the children, we can physically financially provide for their needs until we are around our middle ages where our strength starts to fade.

Starting a Family as an Office Worker

For someone who does not rely on his physical strength but on his career (e.g. office worker), the best time to start a family is around their 30s.

Any degree holder who just finished college usually starts a job that pays a minimum wage. Considering the financial difficulties of starting a family, an individual who is just starting to work on their career must focus first on building their career first. They should wait until they have stablished career where their earnings would be sufficient enough to raise a family.

Final Thoughts

While this sounds logically correct, let us not forget the possibility of starting a business and or investing.
Time has passed and situations has changed. We are now faced with new circumstances and new possibilities that is not available before.

Also, everything is unpredictable and usually goes against our plans. Before even thinking of investing, let us first save or put aside an amount that we can easily withdraw just in case an emergency arises.
