ListNerds: Week 1 Overview and Lessons Learnt

Wow! What an absolutely insane start to this new journey!

If you haven’t checked it out, you totally should.

Week 1, for all intents and purposes, refers to the period since I upgraded my account to an Enterprise Membership.

Here is an introduction with some useful information for newbies – ListNerds: First Impressions

Since that post, I’ve decided to upgrade to an Enterprise Membership. My first email went out to 1350 members, and it got verified! Well, by the skin of my teeth, I must add.

I managed to get 21 upvotes, with 20 required to get your email verified. This earned me 116 LISTNERDS, which you can see below on the right-hand side.

As you can see, I did ask for some support, and I got it! The above mail linked to the ListNerds: First Impressions post. This email alone covers my monthly cost for the package, which was my initial minimum target. Boom! Done!

With an Enterprise Membership, I’m able to send out 2 emails a day! This doesn’t mean it needs to be direct to my Hive content alone. I can direct those anywhere, however, I’ve stuck to sending people to my profile, communities, or friends.

Not every email you send will be verified, but after week 1, I have loads that have been successful. I do need to wait 7 days before it’s verified, but with those that I did the first week, most of the successful ones should convert… unless they get excessive downvotes. Here’s a sample below.

The first one got 22 upvotes and 2 downvotes, which got me to 20 and got the email verified. The second one was 23 up and 2 down, with the third one on 14 up and 1 down. There may have been some issues there with regards to my image, as it may have taken people to the wrong link. Unfortunately, I didn’t check that one, but going forward, I’ll check and analyze if an email doesn’t perform well.

As of today, I have 438 LISTNERDS.

That’s fantastic! Not only am I blown away, but I’m also just so grateful and stoked that I’m in the Top 50 already, haha. I’ve also had loads of extra views and comments on my content, and I’m loving the journey.

As a test, I converted 5 liquid LISTNERDS (which I won) to SWAP.HIVE, which gave me 8 HIVE! That’s a fantastic ratio.

Let’s talk ListNerds:

In my first week, I managed to get enough mail together to do a Solo Mail. With the amount of mail going around, it seems like I’ll be able to average 1 Solo Mail a week, which is great! One automatically verified email, on top of the two I can do daily.

As of today, I’m on 438 LISTNERDS. Whoohoo! My cost is covered, and I can grow my staked amount. Exciting times!

I also managed to finally learn how to add an image as a clickable source to the relevant content. I was struggling to get that right and dropped a few emails that led to the image source. I didn’t realize the image was a clickable link at that time, but hey, so we live and learn. I had the click here text above the image to the hyperlink, and @solymi bailed me out in a comment, telling me how easy it is to make that image the clickable link. Big up to ya!

I’ve come across a ton of great content and met some wonderful people along the way. I’m not going to namedrop, but you know if I’m around, visiting, and interacting, you’re one of them 😊

What I have also noticed, is some less experienced Hivean’s tend to do a lot of short-form posts. It’s your account and you can do as you please, however, if you’re looking at attracting more people to your blog, longer-form posts perform better.

Now, I’m not saying you need to write essays, but posts with a 350-word count plus do better unless it’s more about the visuals like photography or art. These also get great support, and it helps to put some context into the post relating to the visuals.

Another point is communities and tags. There are some great supportive communities out there that can help bolster your post to new levels. Be sure to check their guidelines, and post accordingly.

Finally, and this is something I haven’t specifically checked, but if you’re using PeakD, you can post directly in a community, then tick the box to the right, to add it to your blog. Then there’s no need for you to reblog your post.

Last note. Don’t spam tag communities. Curators and community owners could get annoyed by this.
