Cruise to Annapolis Maryland (Set)

Annapolis Maryland is a treasure on the Chesapeake. It's a well known sailing center on the east coast. Really one of two rivals. The Annapolis sailors and the Newport, Rhode Island sailors are always at odds the capitol of sailing versus the sailing capitol. Because it's a nautical destination and the home to the US naval war college, the town has a unique charm unlike any other on the bay. Our weather this visit was extremely cloudy to start but it eventually broke and we had beautiful sunsets.

We approached from the north which means you have to pass under the bay bridge. As a sailboat, any time you have to go UNDER a bridge is nerve racking. Even if you're 100% sure you have the clearance your always second guessing. EEEEEkkkkk

We'll we made it and the look back at the bridge is beautiful.

The three radio towers tell you you're on the right track on the Severn River.

Social distancing in practice. Much of the dining was moved outside due to covid.

The Annapolis water taxi was a really great and scenic way to make our way around town.

Hard core sailors weren't deterred because of the weather.

This shot was a cellphone zoom in. Not great. But I loved the way the ship meshed with the natural background. It rod on the waves, blended into the land and met the sky.

One of the most popular spots in town. City dock is a first come first serve overnight docking in the center of Annapolis.

We passed Sandy Point Shoal Lighthouse (www.http://www.sandypointlighthouse.org/) on the way to Annapolis. Such a beautiful red contrast against the sky and water.
