10 things you should know when you just joined Listnerds.png

You just joined Listnerds, exciting!

If you're just as excited as I was when I joined, you are probably eager on sending out that first email quickly. But let's talk about this for a minute before you jump into this without thinking some stuff through which you probably can't know unless someone mentioned it to you. Now I know that I want to guide the people that sign up with my ref link as much as I can and want to avoid them making the same rookie mistakes that I (and many others) made when we got started. After all, my vision is to build something together, and that means there's no need for you to make the same mistakes if I can share my experience with you instead. I'm hoping to educate the people in my team (and others reading my content) so that in the future, more people have embraced the blockchain side that's been added since the Listnerds relaunch.

The mailer that doesn't mail

You probably already knew this as you already signed up, but let's just make sure everyone knows this in case they are still wondering if they want to sign up. This mailer is a blockchain-based mailer and doesn't send the emails to your personal email account, instead, you will find the emails in your Listnerds account only when you decide to log in. Every now and then you will find an email from @jongolson in the mailbox that you used to sign up on Listnerds. This is not a daily thing though.

Reading emails & responding

You should just start simple and open the emails that you receive, click on them, if you can or want, you can leave response for the author in case of a Hive blog post that's been shared. This is obviously not always possible, but if it is, I'd highly recommend it and would advise you to mingle with the other members. If you're a Hive member, you already know that "Engagement is key", keep that in mind here as well.

Earning MAIL tokens

To send out emails, you will need MAIL tokens, 1 MAIL means you can send an email to 1 person. As a free member you will receive 5 MAIL tokens per reading email, Premium members will get 25 MAIL tokens per email they read, Business members 35, and last: Enterprise members earn 50 MAIL tokens per email they read. I know you will probably be excited and when you see 250 MAIL tokens, you might think "Let's do this! And start writing an email". Let me stop you there! Don't make this mistake. I will explain to you why in the next paragraph.

Opening rates

The amount of people opening your email is not as high as the number of emails you've sent it to. My experience is that from 1000 emails and up, the results will be more or less the same. But you have to take into account that Listnerds is still building and there will be flaws and things that go wrong, which is the case with every new release. The team is always very supportive so never feel bad to send a support ticket to them if you have something that needs attention. Back to opening rates:

The image above shows you 3 numbers: Mails sent, openings, clicks.
If you do some math, you will see that the number of openings is just 6-7% of the number of emails sent. The Click-Through Rate (CTR) depends on several things, such as the quality of your email. But over time you will notice that sometimes an email just isn't to people's liking or even the best ones have a lower CTR than a less fancy one.

Gather 1000 MAIL tokens at least (edited May 22)

Before you start sending out emails. My advice is to send it to 1000 to 1500 people and make sure it looks pretty. You will probably be forgiven for sending a plain text with a link to a hive post, but why not go the extra mile and make a great impression? There's more you should know, upgraded memberships come with 1000 - 5000 prospects. It means you don't actually have to use your hard-earned MAIL tokens to send an email, you can just fill in 0 right here:

Edit May 22:
We did a test with a team member who has a free membership, and I asked him to send out the email with the currently MAIL tokens he had (666, lol) and see if it would get verified now. I suspected the new voting (score) system that has been implemented weeks ago should be a positive change for free members that don't collect as many MAIL tokens as the upgraded members do, and I was correct. His mail already passed the verification benchmark 12 hours later.

And your email gets sent to your downline plus 5000 others automatically. What's the point of earning these MAIL tokens then, I hear you wonder?

SOLO Mails

These my friend, you will save up until you have 15000, and then you are able to send out a SOLO email that will be verified immediately, meaning it will be paid out the next morning!

Here you will find either a notification that you don't have enough MAIL tokens yet, OR you see the mail editor meaning that you still have 1 SOLO mail token from upgrading to enterprise (1 per month), or you collected 15000 MAIL tokens by opening emails.

Verified emails?

You may feel dizzy by now, reading about mail tokens, opening rates, CTR & SOLO mails, but there's more! To earn a piece of the reward pool, your email needs to get verified. This means you will need a score of 20+ (downvotes will be deducted!) within a week (compare it with payout window on Hive) and once it hits 7 days, you will find a green YES instead of a red NO in the verified table:

You see I have 25 upvotes and 3 downvotes, but that means I have 22 upvotes in total. Once the 7 days window is reached, it will change to a green YES. The next morning, the rewards are divided and you will see how many Listnerds tokens you earned that day.

Limited amount of emails

You can't send out emails unlimited. As a free member, you can send an email once a week. Premium can send an email every three days, business once a day, and finally, enterprise twice a day. This doesn't include any SOLO mails you will send during the month, may they be free from upgrading or collected by reading emails. The SOLO mails are a bonus which you will enjoy!

Voting on emails

To verify the emails, you need to cast your vote in the inbox. Once you read the email, there will be a blue arrow and a red arrow. You can only vote a few times when you haven't staked any CTP in your Listnerds account though, to read how you can make sure that you are able to vote, go here How-To Stake CTP On ListNerds.com. Staked Listnerds

The Listnerds tokens are currently used to earn staking rewards. In the future, the utility will be added. Just be patient and until then, enjoy the sweet staking rewards! You can claim your staking rewards, as well as your email rewards every morning once the timer resets, and claim them with one click. Unstaking them will take 10 weeks and doesn't come in 1/10 chunks, but a full powerdown at once at the end of the 10 weeks. In the meanwhile you won't earn staking rewards over them!

well, to get people in your downline you will have to promote what you're doing, just like I did with all my guides. The referrals aren't coming for free, you have to work for them! I spent MANY hours writing and connecting for that. If you aren't sharing the link, nobody will be in your downline, correct. I built a team of people to guide them, but as you're not in my team (correct me if I'm wrong) you are supposed to go to the person that referred you for guidance. I'm in the middle of prepping an emigration on short notice and I'm very short on time so can't take this task upon me. This is exactly why you should sign up with someone you know can help you. I see. In my case, nobody referred me, I'm just sing up for my own. That's the reason that I am disconnected from everybody, I think. I going to find the Listnerd Discord to some guidance there. I need to understand the platform before I jump to get people on board. I'm Cuban, so my intention is to focus on the Spanish community, I have not seen a single email in Spanish.

I believe in the future they will implement things such as special topics to receive emails from etc. And as the platform is building, the Spanish community is not around yet maybe, but of course you can start building. I don't think 1k mail tokens is enough to get your mail verified. At least from what I have seen lately, the open rate isn't really as high as it was in the past due to the increased user base.

And this is from my recent archived ones with enterprise. As you can see, there is actually no difference in the opening rates. I know from my team members who aren't upgraded (or just premium) that with 1000 they can make it. Of course, the content you share matters. I think I also wrote that you can also add 250 or 500 more to be sure in my post.

Here is just a view of my current numbers. I think the open rate has dropped and 1k is no longer a good number for getting verified. The increase in the number of users is probably the reason for this and I am not sure if people gave it a try then quit either.

That last sentence is important ;) As there are a lot of users sending out Rising Start emails, so you may be spot on that people just skip opening them. I open all emails personally, I just don't vote them all.

But again, that's why I added 250 to 500 is a safer bet. And this is up to each person to decide for themselves, looking at their stats. In your case, I'd surely up that with at least 250. If you want to play even safer, 500. So that I totally agree on :)

I would like to add that you also probably should take into account that you haven't been very active mailing stuff, you have one at Feb 5, Feb 15 and March 5. That's with longer intervals than weekly. People don't know you well-enough maybe. I'd try to step up and email as soon as you can every week, and send it to 1500 to see how that goes. You should not forget more and more enterprise members are appearing so you will have to stand up and share something unique, probably forget the rising star ref for a while, unless you have more emails to send of course.

Yeah, you know, I think most people make the same mistakes at the beginning, which is fine if you don't mind but why waste your 1 weekly email :)

I'm actually working on that, but more as in how you can join this without having experience as I proved that already. I also consider bundling the guides at some point, but need to cover more aspects before that's the right moment I think.

Great guide, very useful! I've been with Listnerds for a few days now and I don't quite understand how it handles the voting power, does it always add up to 20 per day, regardless of the amount of CTP I have in stake? So far I've been adding CTP a little at a time and I haven't noticed any changes. The bar goes up when I stake the CTP, but it does not change the amount that is filled per day, so I understand that it is not a percentage of what I have in stake. Does it change from a certain amount of staked CTP or it will always fill 20 per day?

I believe it's 25 CTP per vote.. So if you add 100 CTP you should get 4 more votes a day..
etc..

I've been adding small amounts in the beginning as well not noticing any change, but if you do it per 25 CTP you'd be able to see the change..

EXCELLENT information here -- yes, my CTR is right at 6 percent, but I thought 300 was enough and almost went at 250 ... but 1,500 makes more sense now that you have explained it!

I have a question. I normally use 4000-5000 credits to send mails. But it never gets send out to as many people as I use credits. How can I change this? And why is it like this? Do you have any idea? Or do you know who to ask?

Hey, do you have the premium membership? Because I think that might be the case, as with business it goes to 3000 and enterprise 5000. So maybe it's capped at that for premium currently. Are you in the discord of the CTP tribe?

Yeah I think this is something that came up before, some people try to send it to more than 3000/5000 as well but it probably makes little sense while the userbase is growing still.

Hey I just got led here by LISTNERDS, again...
And I saw that you have the SOLO mail section still on 10k MAIL for one Solo mail but actually the price went up to 15k MAIL you might want to edit that piece of info

Great informations, thank you very much ;-) although for me they come too late ;-) I didnt ask, was curious and sent my first mail to 8 people !LOL
But therefore I had 3 openings and 3 clicks, not a bad rate, dont you think? ;-)
Now I learnd again and tomorrow I can make my second atempt to send a mail to 1000 people.
